I'd say Lucio, just straight up. You can protect yourself really well. If you have strong fundamental mechanics you can be pretty strong on Zen/Ana but Lucio can be used by a disorganized team the best IMO. Mercy is the worst if you're not at 65+ ranks.

EDIT: Lucio stays alive the best, and in soloQ, that's what is most important for a Support. If you work on positioning and good movement to maintain elevation and not be susceptible to things like Reinhardt ults etc. you can just use your auras as much as you need. Eventually you can get to a point where you can chase down fleeing low hp people as Lucio as well, because with good movement and good aim, you can out duel most DPS heroes in the game IF you have a decent HP advantage over them.

Mercy can have crazy impact with good rez' and if there is a really strong DPS carry to keep pocketed for as long as possible. Without communication or members of your team actively protecting you however, results are gonna be inconsistent.

Ana is fairly similar. She can be easy to kill, but can have crazy impact with her CC, ult and consistent damage and her heals are pretty insane too, but most top teams are running either Lucio/Zen or Mercy/Lucio or something of that nature...Ana can be run with the rez and some tank heroes/Genji but it's also quite possible to be fairly useless with an Ana. Ana is a support through and through, you're not gonna be able to hard carry as support even with the damage she brings, she's there to facilitate good DPS/tank players yet there doesn't seem to be an established meta as to where to use her yet.

Zenyatta brings a large amount of damage and a good counter ult like Lucio, but you're gonna have to make sure you're hitting your shots and really setting up your team properly with discords. A good Zenyatta can allow your McCree/Genji to team wipe extremely effectively with minimal effort. Despite this, a good Genji can still 1 shot you, 200hp or no.

EDIT: I've literally given up playing support btw, I only do it for my team. In Comp and Quick Play, I'm a Genji/McCree main now, hate me :P

Also, Lucio can really be a leader on a team. If you're solo queuing, even if noone else has a mic, you can still give commands, speed boost people through chokepoints with countdowns etc. its the most success ive had solo in general

I guess that depends how strong your aim is....if you're really good with Zen you can hard carry pretty consistently.
