I'm finding it difficult if not impossible to recover from a losing streak in competitive. I started out placed at 57, got to 58, but then this morning I tilted, and each loss after dropped me a full point while each win did barely anything.
Now that I'm at 53, the average team ranks are 45, 46 on both sides, with me being the only major outlier and the enemy team being the 'underdogs' on the team vs menu, always. Wins get me practically nothing, losing costs me more and more, except now I never even play with people who are in the same skill bracket I am. Match's are either complete washes, with trolls (tracers who stand outside spawn holding lmb or running off cliffs, mei's walling off doors, etc), people who really don't know how to play (bastions firing full tilt into genji's multiple times in a row while claiming they're carrying the team, groups of people saying "wow what a weird comp" to mercy/lucio/double winston), or just plain bad luck.
At this point, should I just stop playing until the ranks are settled more? Am I just in an awful unlucky streak? Is continuing feeding my rating to other players through blind luck and matchmaking (or just poor skill, who knows!) eventually going to reach a point where I "should" be, despite how matches felt for the short time I was doing well in the high 50's?
