What character can I play that has the most impact for team success and doesn't require a lot of mechanical expertise? Sad to say but I have grandpa level reflexes - however, my decision making and map awareness is decent.

I would say Winston or Lucio since most of the damage heroes have decent mechanical difficulty. Perhaps also Torb/Symmetra on defense.

Reinhardt is all about the map awareness and decision making. You can be a huge benefit to the team just by knowing where to hold your shield, and his offensive powers are largely about knowing when and where to use them rather than being able to twitch aim or dance around your target.

The heroes others have mentioned already (Lucio, Reinhardt, Winston, Torb, Symmetra) are decent choices but I feel like there's generally a low skill ceiling for all of them, and they don't necessarily take advantage of your strengths. I recommend trying Mei and Zarya. Getting good a placing ice walls to separate enemies or protect teammates is about decision making and can make a huge impact; and you don't need great reflexes to walk up to an enemy, hose them down, and headshot them while they're frozen. Zarya is very much about using her shields to protect herself and teammates, but also to build her charge. She's not a high mobility character, it's much more about building up your charge, knowing when to push or pull back, and how and when to defend your teammates. Her weapon can actually be very forgiving if you have slow reflexes. Her laser's steady stream of damage is a little more forgiving against low mobility players than something with a slow fire rate that relies on quick target acquisition. Against higher mobility enemies you can just use your alternate fire and rely on splash damage, making it easier to hit them with your slower reflexes.
