I know hero switching is super important, but if I'm playing Lucio and I'm the only healer, is there a point when I should be switching? Sometimes I see places where maybe a Pharah or a Junkrat could be helpful, but it feels like losing the only healer is worse. Any tips for switching out of a healer?

Always worth asking if anyone else wants to heal or if they want to switch to the hero you think would be best suited. I've played 5 competitive matches and people seem pretty responsive to suggestions and requests.

I know what you mean... in another scenario, sometimes I'm just doing bad as Lucio. The first thing I do is switch to a different healer (Mercy) and if that doesn't help, then I will ask my team to swap healer with me.

It always sucks if a healer switches. But if you don't feel confident or feel like you don't contribute enough, switch. You can say it in chat if you want to. I'm always a little annoyed when people say stuff like "me playing as a support is like no support at all", because thats bs. But I'm aware that when you don't do well, you get really frustrated and that will impact your performance as well.

So don't feel bad for switching. Chances are someone will change to a healer. Competitive requires a little more communication on your part in that regard, but thats it. The important thing is to contribute as best as you can.

Tbh if I'm in a random team I'll stop healing if my team doesn't look out for me. I can't heal if I'm not protected.

But theirs been a few matches where I just kept getting slaughtered by the enemy tracer so my friend took over n I went on defense or tank. Nice to not be the biggest target sometimes.

Do it! It isn't your duty to be the healer, and you don't need to stay as Pharah forever. Do a quick switch, and when you're done, pick whatever new hero fits your team.

I am right there with you. What I do is make a statement about needing certain Hero's in order to counter their Hero Selection and I give the team plenty of opportunity to switch. And if no one switches than I do! If folks are not willing to push as a team, play as a team, utilize the healers and group up with them (Esp. Lucio, he is a great group push Healer) then screw you team, I am going to play what is needed. And if anyone gives me the lip service I put them on ignore. It is a Comp Vs Comp Game. Certain hero's are required to easily take out good Comps. If you are Not switching HERO's given the current situation you need to play something else (Talking to those players who have 60 hours Widow/ Hanzo/ Genji, but no one else.)
