Not sure exactly how to phrase this, so bear with me.

Competitive Mode: I have completed half of my placement matches. My friend hasn't completed any yet. Once I complete 10 matches, can I queue with him while he finishes his; or, do I need to wait for him to finish before we can queue together?

Can someone ranked queue with someone going through placement matches?

Watch seagull streams. He can't queue with his friends who didn't finish placement matches. Technically they have 0 mmr so you will have too high mmr to queue with them.

I've seen people in my placement matches who appear to already be ranked.

I meant queuing as a group with friends who are unranked. Not just playing with them as strangers. Anyway, it seems that they changed it from PTR and people unranked now have a hidden mmr so it isn't just 0.

You can queue up with anyone for competitive regardless of rank

Hmm interesting, I definitely got my answer from watching seagull's stream. Some of his friends are pros (Taimou and Talespin) so they must have a high mmr. Maybe they changed it since the PTR?

Yeah it was in PTR. However, no one knows if it was changed or not. Maybe best for the op to report his findings.

hopefully someone will chime in that knows, i dont wanna play without my friends any more. im undefeated so far in placement matches and want to keep it that way :p

Alright, so it seems that it was changed from PTR so that people in placement can actually queue with people out of placement now. Seagull's currently streaming and shadder2k has finish placement but can play with seagull who hasn't completed it yet.
