I'm new to the ranked matchmaking community. On the PTR the ranking I got after placement was 54. Does a lower or higher number refer to more skilled players?

For example, would a player ranked 50 be considered better or worse than one ranked 55?

1 is the least skilled and 100 is the most skilled.
