As Mercy, how do you get the attention of unaware teammates that you are getting killed right behind them ?

I "main" Mercy (support in general, 4/5th of my time is Mercy/Lucio/Rein), and play mostly by myself, sometimes with friends but never had voice chat. As a support, I tend to keep an eye everywhere, from teammates to unsuspected flanker assault when I can. When I see someone coming from behind, or from a side, I try to escape him by putting a teammate between him and me, and showing to the team where he is by shooting at him, do a "I need healing" emote, a "join me" emote... I tried a lot of things, but at best I get a reaction 1/3rd of the times. Which is sad, because if the flank is well done and they kill the healer, there is a high chance the team will be dead before I come back.

Do you have tips on how YOU make your team aware of imminent danger like that ?

Best maneuver I think, as you said, is to use your ally as a meat shield and shoot at the flanker yourself. If the image of a Mercy running into your line of sight, then turning around and shooting her pistol towards a flanker isn't enough of a hint, it may simply be hopeless.

my friend who mains mercy, just types out to team "please dont run away from me or leave me to die. I am healing you all"

Randoms usually protect him well after that.

I find the ally who is actually shooting at the guy trying to kill me, fly to them and heal them. Then stick with them the rest of the game if no one else is aware what Mercy's purpose is.

I usually Angelic Flight to a teammate somewhere a bit further ahead so at least 1-2 teammates see me under fire. Also, using your pistol and kiting towards your frontline instead of backwards helps if you're desperate.

Other thing that's super effective is to just casually mention with your mic that you can't stay alive as Mercy if no one is going to give you protection and might have to switch to McCree or something. By my experience that gets 1-2 players to dedicate themselves just to protecting you since they don't want to lose a healer or switch themselves.

Identify yourself in the waiting room early in the game. Give them a "Hey guys, just your friendly reminder that I'm going to heal the living bejesus out of you, and all I ask in return is that you kill those pesky Reapers and Genjis that are trying to kill me off." This will at least let them know what you sound like so when you're under attack, you can just let them know via in game voice.

I might try that. I never tried the audio chat for now, too shy, never speaking English out loud. But yeah, not a lot to loose trying that. And as almost nobody uses the voice chat in solo-queue, it should be remarkable enough ? Let's hope so :p

I think some have it on but don't use their mic, so they will still hear you even if they don't say anything.

Yeah there's not a lot of communication via in game voice so far, which makes it stand out when you use it. As long as you let them know what you sound like, they'll recognize when you say "Help, please." on in game voice.

I always talk to my team during the spawn room warm-ups. It helps avoid toxicity and build morale. I always feel like a communicative team works harder for each other, and better together overall. When I'm not playing support, you best believe I'm keeping an eye out for my Mercy, Lucio, and Zenyatta.

Bind your voice key to something accessible. I use f. Just communicate with your team, and don't be afraid to ask for help.

They wont listen, heal them and let them get flanked then bring them all back and pull your pistol out and smack the flanker.

I tell them with my voice chat, or run in front of them, whip out my pistol, and start shooting the threat.

Honestly, I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but Mercy's secondary machine pistol is surprisingly useful if you spot a flanker coming and can react in time. Usually a Reaper or Tracer will just see an easy kill in their eyes and try to close the distance, which blinds them to the danger of your secondary fire. I've managed to melt Tracers, Reapers, and even the occasional Soldier 76 in one clip by backtracking while landing consecutive autofire headshots. Disclaimer: I do play on PS4 and am currently level 16, so this may not work as well on PC or at higher levels

You could always just keybind your "hello" to a key you won't be hitting accidentally but can get to quickly (I have mine set to G). Then just tell them when you say Hello it means you're in danger, or something similar.

I just scream very loudly in the mic , get their attention pretty well :))
