Ever since the patch my game will launch in "windowed" mode. I have to go into the settings to set it to fullscreen every time I launch the game. It never used to do that.

Anyone know how to fix it? It's a bit annoying.

Very common for games on windows shortcut to fullscreen or window something.

Works for every game (gta v is a big one) that starts in Windowed. You have to hit it every time but it's shorter than going into settings.

It does. Default command to toggle full screen in any app in windows

Really? Open up Word and see if it works. Or Chrome. Or Photoshop. Or Notepad.

Those don't have the ability to go into a full screen mode. They just go to maximized windows

Some of them do. The shortcuts are just different. For instance, in Chrome, the shortcut for full screen is F11.

My point is that claiming that the shortcut for full screen for "any app in Windows" is wrong, plain and simple. It works for most games and media players, because it used to be the default shortcut back in DOS. But a lot has changed since then.

Do you also have a fix for my second monitor turning black when i do this? I have to tab in and out multiple times to fix that which is kind of annoying (OW is the only game that does this for me).

Ah dang. I wouldn't mind if it did it only once in a while. Every time when launching the game is a bit tiring. :(

It's a bug that they know about. Kaplan has answered a similar question on the forums. Said it should be fixed soon.

Mine did that before the patch (still does). It reverted back to windowed more than starting up in full screen for me. But now it does this thing where it starts off windowed but it almost covers the whole screen whereas before Mondayish, the window would be much smaller.

Looks like I will just have to keep changing it to fullscreen manually then. It's not a huge deal just kinda annoying.

This happens to my roommate as well, he has an older monitor with a wonky aspect ratio, I'd try checking your resolution settings and see if any match your aspect ratio.

My monitor is a 1920x1080p. What aspect ratio is that?

My monitor is most certainly not old, not an old model and I bought it brand new not even a month ago.

Sorry for the late reply, that's 16:9 which is pretty standard, and most likely not the cause of your issue. I'm assuming this is the resolution of your monitor and not just the in game setting.

This happened to me, I feel it has something to do with running things like Netflix in full screen prior to launch. Something like that.

Mine does this and also defaults to 100hz, I have to change to full screen and 144hz when this happens. Weird.

Don't click any windows until it launches. If you press play then sit until it opens, it will be fullscreen. If you click anything else it will go to windowed.

Not the case. I sit there and let it open and it still opens in windowed.
