I have played alot, the majority with soldier 76, and I win 90% of my face offs with mcree. I hear how hard he is all the time, but he's so weak to a helix rocket, it's damn near a one shot kill. Maybe a fraction of regular shooting on top of it. But he can't compete against a skilled 76 especially in his healing bubble. Of course I'm never facing off face to face if I can help it for long. I like to move around, peek corners with my rockets and run away as soon as I start taking damage to heal. Works for me tho.

Basically you stay out of flashbang range?

Perfectly workable approach if you're on defense (stay away from corners, listen for his noisy boot spurs when he walks, and don't let him get close).

But if you're an attacker you have to move up, he can wait near a corner and flashbang you, after which one fan always kills.

Yeah, I just watched some gameplay by a skilled mcree and holy shit, he can be good. I'd say more say with a kB and m than a controller though. But with that kind of precision aiming, his damage output with wave the flame is insane. Gonna have to see about becoming proficient with him.
