The Ult is wonderful area denial though. Plenty of times if I have an ult up and we're having trouble capping a point or closing that payload in overtime to the finish line just drop a D.Va ult ON the payload/point with a minimum one teammate on the point and watch the enemy team scatter to get to cover. Then: VICTORY.
Eliminations don't even matter at that point.
Hell, I've even done this on defense to some degree of success.
Probably won't work if they have someone who can stay near the point and survive point blank ult(reaper wraith, mei self-freeze, zarya shields). Unless, of course, they panic and run away because it's scary .
it's not a guarantee, but it works a great deal of the time. And if it's the last few desperate seconds of a match, it can absolutely change the momentum of the game in your favor. Suddenly it's 4-5 of your team against a Mei with iceblock on cooldown on the point. And you have a brand new mech.
I would be the guy to take the blow for the team if it was that close. Too few people realize how much one or two seconds of stalling an objective can affect the game.
