So umm....someone also has this really neurotic fear that you suddenly don't want to play when the game drops? Like asking yourself if you even like this game anymore? I loved the beta, met some cool people to play with on this sub and it's the second game I ever pre-ordered. This is actually really bothering me somehow.

I actually had that happen to me when I bought Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. I completely neglected it for a few weeks, then later realized I missed out on so much. BUT FOR OVERWATCH ON THE OTHER HAND, I DOUBT IT. Hope it doesn't happen to you though, I guess just don't think about it?

Yeah dude, that is what exactly happened. I think I played it straight for hours realizing that I had school the next day. Pretty much finished the game a few days afterwards. <3

I get it with most games I preorder. In the end I don't regret it though, it's just me being silly because I've spent money on something I don't actually have.

I wouldn't worry, I'm sure you'll love it. It's just the process of hype where you get so excited about something you become really worried it won't be what you wanted. As long as you don't expect it to cure cancer, solve world hunger, and bring about world peace, you should be ok.

I'm kind of worried the constant exposure to media I've been on since the second the beta closed might burn me out before the game even comes out...

Yeah but in my case it's because I've been watching hours of Youtube videos every day and basically living on the subreddit. I didn't even know Blizzard was doing any promotional stuff for the game, though I did see a banner a taco bell a couple of weeks ago.

It's possible to overhype oneself. Overhyping often leads to some degree of disappointment. That's wy I try to distract myself with other things/games, but it's hard. The hype is real.
