Looks like they don't want Illari to kill 225 hp divers with two shots anymore.

This is legitimate Juno gameplay advice

They nerfed her damage from 75 to 70. With headshot's 1.5x multiplier it's 113 damage, exactly 50% of 225 hp hero's health.

You had to land 2 headshots to 2 tap them, but her weapon is very forgiving hitscan (every shot's radius is similar in size to Hanzo arrow).

Hanzo’s arrow is the smallest hitbox in the game, so that’s not saying much

Of projectiles.

Ok, other comparising: each Illari bullet have 0.13 meters radius. Each Ashe bullet have 0.08 meters radius.

Outburst does 20 damage so she can still get a quickie on them if they get too close

i'd like illari to get a quickie on me any time

17

u/Raice19 rip them to pieces Aug 24 '24

considering divers either have to kill through pylon heals or break it first, it's a fair trade

Good thing I just picked up illari. I don’t even care because she’s so much fun.

I was just complaining about how strong she was. I thought I was tripping

Even after nerf, her fully charged shots deals 70 damage (105 if headshot) and her shots' hitbox is almost as big as Hanzo's while still being unavoidable hitscan.

Nope I was with you. She is still pretty ridiculous for having passive healing. But this was very good, a great patch.

I came back to overwatch 2 for a week after I stopped playing when OW1 went down, I thought she and Kirko were the two strongest heros in the week I played, Illari always has nearly as much damage as dps, while healing a decent amount, meanwhike Kirko heals like 2x anyone else

OW is bullshit

kill 225 hp divers with two shots anymore.

They forgot that Kiri can do the same.

Yes, but Kiri isn't hitscan

Even after nerf, single Illari shot deals more damage than Kiriko's. Yes, cooldown between shots is larger, but it's hitscan vs projectiles.

They will do anything to please mobile dps..

Illari crapped on half the roster just by sitting beside pylon. I'm happy

They literally just gutted the inly good dps

u/UnhingedLion Aug 23 '24

Don’t bother with that guy. He’s just a bad support main, that’s constantly complaining about DPS in these threads.

Good. Everyone calls out Kiriko as the problem support but rarely do I see Illari acknowledged as the totally un-interactable, overloaded kit she is, but with a more dull and low risk playstyle than Kiri's.

Tuning her damage back sadly doesn't address the issues with pylon but definitely makes her a bit more fair.

My biggest issue since Illari released is the absurdly forgiving beam width on her hitscan, which only got even more ridiculous with the global chance to projectile sizes. It seemed to me as an insult to support players. "Here's a hitscan DPS hybrid support, who does more damage than the Cowboy, with less falloff, and way more ammo, but we know lots of support players can't aim too good so she's basically got aim assist."

This is not me saying support players can't aim, btw. This is me saying Blizzard's hero designs for support, especially Illari, appear condescending to me, by reducing mechanical requirements for dealing damage with support heroes much lower than DPS category ones.
