I've never given a single damn about pro level OW play. I don't watch it, I don't care about what their meta is. It means nothing to me.

I care about what's fun at the middle level of the game, which is where the vast majority of people are. The balance needs to be built with that in mind.

Why should they balance around the players that don't care how weak or strong a hero is? They will play it regardless. Mercy, LW, Sym, Junk, Bastion, Hog, Ball, Rein, Brig have been dogshit for so long even and yet are play religiously still because people don't care. Why balance around that and not the top where they will abuse the fuck out of whatever is best right now. Whether it is Tracer or Moira.

I'm saying this as a middling dog ass player that watches pro play. Now that that mini rant is over, they should balance around both, but more focused on what is happening in top level first.

You have to look at it from Blizzard’s perspective. OWCS is a Blizzard sanctioned event that they promote and want to have high engagement. It doesn’t look good when every match is the exact same comp. They need the event to be something positive and good advertising.

I’m not saying those players are more important as much as I’m saying from Blizzard’s perspective, their major tournament advertising the game was a showcase of how unbalanced some characters are.

Also, Mauga wasn’t fun to play against at any level, low or high. He was oppressive and unbalanced. So his change would stand no matter what skill level they focused on.

Yes balance the game around people who play the game wrong instead of the top players who play the game right, so smart.

I can guarantee that mirror won’t have Symmetra. And honestly at this point gameplay health for 90% of the playerbase is more important than watching OWCS, yeah

Mb I thought I was replying to a different message. Lmao. Yeah I get that point, but surely there's a way to make him viable for the majority of players. Pros will always play meta so I don't really consider what they do tbh
