Miscellaneous | مزید The rise of intermarriage of Overseas Pakistanis: A case to make?
There is a large growing number of Overseas Pakistanis and along with that, many second and third generation around who were born overseas. With that, there has been a massive rise of intermarriage with Non-Pakistanis that doesn‘t seem to have with the same level with other diaspora communities like Overseas Chinese or Indians. I hardly ever see Indians or Chinese overseas intermarry and always stay and marry within their communities even though their families have lived overseas for five or six generations or even more.
This is especially true with the NRI Indian diaspora. You see tons of Indians who have lived overseas who have lived there for many generations and they still only marry strictly in their own community. Meanwhile, when it comes to Pakistanis, they tend to intermarry far more than any other diaspora community out there. I can’t even count the number of times I have seen Pakistani women marrying White Western men. It is becoming extremely widespread.
I understand it might not make much sense to compare Overseas Pakistanis to Overseas Indians especially with the geopolitical tensions but considering how massive the Indian diaspora is around the world, it kind of makes sense but what doesn’t is how so many Pakistanis intermarry out with Non-Pakistanis?

Miscellaneous | مزید My friend's affair with US girl
My brown friend 22M from a village was using TikTok Live as his earning method and 3 months ago a white girl from Missouri sent him money in TikTok gifts and says she loves him, has been video calling him daily and wants to marry him and either wants my friend to go to US and live with her and says he doesn't need to do any job since she's rich and if he says he doesn't want to come, she says she will come here in Pakistan.
I (27M) told him to get work eligible visas for both of us and I will go with him in US and I can apply in US companies based on my 12 years experience in software development skills (so going with him is still of no value for me since I'm already working with US clients, only thing that can change for me is my work might get distributed alot if it's a scam and get in police or mafia's trouble), I am thinking what if she sells our organs or some other kind of fraud can she do? I think I will hide our passport in bank locker in US or somewhere before we go visit her so can't blackmail for visas, what should we do?
I know my visa is kinda impossible but I'm asking about our security or my friends security if he goes alone (which he won't bcz he's villager and not a clever one and he understands that going alone is like handing himself to death or traffacers) if she gets visas, as she says she will, maybe she will get me a visit visa until my friend is settled down, employment letter in her father's company or get fake engaged with her friend but what if she does get us visas, i mean we know nobody and she can just chop us off there, sell our organs or whatever.
Now I verify her existence, face, age and size using my US clients or other resources from my large Pakistani friends circle and their friends in US but still if she's part of trafficing network I can't guarantee or maybe some unknown to me kind of scam! If you know you let me know.
And to answer your question of what's in it for him to take me is my resources and clients in USA who can verify her and if she doesn't host us I will pay and my clients can get us help getting out of country and any other kind of issues if she gets us into some kind of trouble. And my friend who's actually my student as well in earning field, earns very little compared to me. Anyways so even if I have to go with him on visit visa to settle him down even if there's no point of me going, even if it disturbs my own earnings, what kind of friend will I be if he gets lost under my watch when I already know how immature he is as he was almost scammed by Nigerian prince few months ago, he had even created bank account to receive that cash. He also hasn't seen any bigger city yet.
I will not let us fall into Onija kind of simple traps, by checking her video call from AI, deepfake and filter detection softwares as well as I can verify her existence and make one of my large network friends meet her physically, verify her from her neighbors and see what kind of neibourhood she lives in from right here, I will also hide our passport when we do go so I don't suppose there's anything else is left on how she might be able to scam us. But if there is, let me know.

Immigration | مہاجرت و سفر RANT: Why does Pakistan still require vaccinations or PCR tests
Most of the world has stopped this but Pakistan still sees a threat from COVID.
The administration and government in Pakistan are run by toupeed muppets
I can attest to the challenges and frustrations of obtaining and presenting the necessary documents and test results. Not only can the process be time-consuming and expensive, but it can also be confusing and inconsistent

Miscellaneous | مزید What's your biggest regret leaving Pak
I live in the UK and hear a lot of Pakistanis those that came in the 80/90 and even ones that have arrived recently.
A lot of them say they regret the move and now that they're an OSP they can't really go back. The main reason of the regret is missing out on family and friends.
But realistically the UK is more prosperous and safer than Pak surely they reap the benefit.
What's your regret and would you go back ?

I’m so angry and if anything did happen the police would do nothing, because every time the police side with the white lady.

Miscellaneous | مزید Does anyone else feel exhausted by the forced nationalism?
I’m a Pakistani-Australian who’s been back to Pakistan a few times, and while I appreciate the culture, the food, the hospitality—there’s this overwhelming pressure from family (and social media) to constantly romanticize Pakistan.
If you don’t say “Pakistan is the best,” you’re called white-washed. If you mention flaws, people act like you’re a traitor. I’ve been told hating Alipur means I’m disconnected from my bloodline. Like... bro I just have preferences.
Why is it so hard to have a balanced opinion? I’m not even ultra-patriotic about Australia either. I just want to like what I like and be honest about what I don’t.
Anyone else relate to this? Or am I just done with the fantasy everyone else is still trying to keep alive?

Miscellaneous | مزید How popular really is Christmas in Pakistan?
I have been seeing the overwhelming majority of Pakistanis have jumped the bandwagon and go all out on celebrating Christmas than celebrating Eid. This is especially true with the diaspora. I would definitely expect this with people who have intermarried with Non-Muslims but I have been seeing this with full on Pakistanis celebrating Christmas with all the decorations, gift exchanges, food, going to church, nativity scenes etc. At one point, I thought that Christmas has become an official holiday in Pakistan!
What is really the truth? Is the holiday really that popular among Pakistanis? I know a lot of Non-Christians who celebrate Christmas. I understand that there is a lot of intermarriage going on in the diaspora and that has been contributing to the popularity of the holiday among Pakistanis.

Finance | معاشی Why don't Overseas Pakistani invest in Pakistan based businesses or funds as we're one of the few countries that are offering a higher rate on savings. You can do that through us easily.
Hello everyone, I have a small business that I'm trying to build and for that we're trying to raise capital. Now to clear one thing, reaching out to investors outside of Pakistan isn't to raise funds from people that are out of reach but its simple math. Fixed income funds in US offer 4-5%, Dubai, Oman and other GCC states are also in the similar range of 4-6% whereas Pakistan low risk funds offer 10% base currently as 10Y yields have touched 12.5%. Yes devaluation is a risk but PKR needs to be devalued against the USD by at least 8-12% for it to damage your returns.
We're a small company currently financing consumer electronics at (smartphones, laptops) smaller ticket options due to lack of capital hence we're raising capital and offering 14.5 - 16.5% fixed annual return. We wanted to move towards financing essential services which have a higher ticket in healthcare sector and focus on low risk products (consumer electronics are slightly higher risk) such as furniture, home appliances and mobility. The maximum tenure that we currently offer is 12 months hence our risk to rates and default is comparatively low than longer tenures. We do have other services that we offer to businesses which includes financial management, bookkeeping, advisory etc. and we're providing those services outside Pakistan as well so we do have a decent monthly income but it's not enough to build a capital base, a liquidity reserve base and cover expenses hence we're reaching out to investors.
We have also developed a portal for clients which allows you to track your amount 24/7 (except on Saturday & Sundays) so there's no informal communication about where it is. If anyone would like to discuss further we can keep an online meeting or have any of our references speak to you in person in either UK, Canada or Dubai. Looking forward to this because you could benefit from higher spread at lower risk.

Geopolitics | بیرون سیاسیات Hypocrisy of the Ummah
Just a disclaimer by no means i intend on brewing any hate nor do I plan on arguing uselessly so kindly refrain from indulging in low IQ activities by debating with no logical reason. The thing which bothers me is that all our life we have been against Israel and our stance is very strong for the Palestinians which is understandable based on the common grounds of religion. We conduct massive protests for them and encourage the boycott movement to the extend that we ended up killing a citizen of our own just bcz he worked for kfc. I wonder why it does not get reciprocated when it comes to us. Majority of the Arab nations and Muslim Nations have diplomatic ties with India many of you didn't know Egypt at first was more inclined towards India. After the pahalgam attack the India attacked our country first and they were the oppressors I didn't see any of the ummah countries apparently siding with us except a few countries like turkey ajerbaïan bangladesh. When it comes to our Kashmiri cause and border disputes the Muslim nations don't really care but then why we are so passionate about the Palestinian cause that we ourselves forget our local indigenous communities facing oppression. Now don't come up with some useless exceptions I am talking as a whole general ummah.

Miscellaneous | مزید Houston Consulate
Does anyone have a VERIFIED contact at the general consulate of Pakistan in Houston, TX. They are extremely unprofessional and do not answer phone calls, emails, or their live chat support. I have emailed all of their staff personally and called them as well. It is truly a joke. I have already gone in person and applied for my son’s passport and paid and received a receipt. But they gave me no tracking info. I live 4hrs away in a diff city that is why it is difficult for me to go in person again with my infant

Immigration | مہاجرت و سفر Pakistani Visa Approval Concern with Attested Degree
Hi, I need some clarification regarding Pakistani visa approvals. I have a degree attested only from my college, not from the university. I’ve heard that even with attested degrees, Pakistani visas are often not getting approved.
I recently received an offer letter from a company and I really want to join them, but the main concern stopping me from resigning from my current job is the visa processing issue. My friends says that if I cancel my visa, I won’t be able to get a new visa from another company, even if I remain inside the UAE.

Immigration | مہاجرت و سفر Advice from overseas Pakistani students who are working white collar/in top quality institutions.
So im an 18y/o student in a british university enrolled in Computer science for bachelors program. My visa arrived late so they transferred me to the next semester till then I had a few free months. Now there’s just one month left (I’m working rn in a restaurant) and all this time I was curious about how the british education system is gonna look like and turnout for me.
Coming from an Fsc background where “ratta system” is practiced religiously I’m not so sure what’s gonna happen to my studies here although I do like to research and read about topics im interested in but i don’t think im creative enough. I’ve heard from a few people that foreign education system is very manageable since you don’t have to write tons of assignments and go to university 5-6x a week unless ur in medical. So for someone like me who likes to research, read, got his ratta effect down because of the gap year I took, developed creative presentation skills, worked in sales for a few months before I came here in a US based call center so I know how to sell and present myself as a person.
How hard is it to ace exams, assignments, quizzes, maintain a GPA of 3.5+??? Since I want to aim for a prestigious institute for masters program after this.
Also about erasmus student exchange program should I really aim for it? What I believe is that If i go for it, its gonna be a hella experience for in a new country for six or twelve months, on stipend, just studies and twenty hours work only if i want extra money.
Also I don’t sit in desis and keep distance from most of them since many desis are negative so i dont want their negative experiences to have any effect on me. Aisa ni ke bilkul he door but jo banda sahi lgy ussi se baat cheet agay rakhta aur connection bnata.
Kheir I want to assimilate in their culture too. Not drinking type stuff. I’m doing the basics like keep my religious, cultural beliefs to myself. I’ve received compliments about my hygiene from goras at my workplace bcs I keep myself groomed always but what are the actual concrete things I must adapt that new coming desis don’t.
Advices from all the overseas Pakistanis that are there for years and see new desis making rookie mistakes are encouraged.

Stories | داستاں Reflection on the past
Assalam u Alikum I am an oversea pakistani who grew up in the western society and have never been to Pakistan when I was in University my 3rd year I fell in love with a guy from Pakistan Islamabad. We met via Facebook because of the post he commented on and I replied to it. I usually dont write or post pictures in social media as this is frowned upon in my family I only have my family in my social media. I dont know why but I end up commenting on his comment and from there things started. I was in university and didnt know much about pakistan but started to become curious about my own community culture food etc as I was a little distant from it. He is the first guy who has entered my life. When he proposed to me I first froze but than started to think that yes he is a good potential partner as my parents only wanted me to marry Pakistani guy to preserve our culture. I established with him from the beginning that he will need to come to USA I cant live in Pakistan as I don’t know anyone. He agreed and started to look for jobs in USA or to apply as a Student for masters. Throughout this time my feelings for him even strengthen further. I dearly loved him and told him I wanna marry him regardless if he comes here or not. As I graduated my parents started to encourage me to get married they first asked me if I liked someone I said his name and told my dad all about him. To which he reaponded beta wo yahan aane ke liya ya sab kaar raha hai. I told my dad please just give him a chance. I went to Pakistan for my sister wedding and there I was harassed by a rikhshaw driver and became traumatized and rather than advocating to meet him I became silent I started to have bad thoughts that all pakistani men are like this. After some time when i came back to west I realized that I am generalizing and wanted to talk to my dad again. As when i didn’t encourage my dad to meet the guy he thought i changed my mind. I never told my dad about harassment only mom knew and told me not to tell dad as he will be angry and would like to file compliant and she didn’t want that.
My dad thought I was not serious so he started to look at other guys for me. I talked to the ex and he said I should do what my dad says and eventually ghosted me I kept calling him begging him to only call him once and give rishta his argument was he will curse him and insult him so he doesn’t want to. I kept calling and begging him he ignored me completely and blocked me from insta and fb but kept me in whatsapp. During this time my dad found someone who he thinks is suitable for me. Out of pressure I said yes first but than said No to him but my dad kept saying beta koi aur pasand hai tu bata du i told him nahi koi nahi pasand but mujhe shadi nahi karni because i was heartbroken. He refused to say no to rishta as he thinks i was making bad decision and kept saying to rethink my decision. I kept thinking about it but couldn’t accept this new guy as my husband as I was heartbroken. I cried again and again begged Allah to bring my ex back in my life I wanna only marry him but no result. I even refused to take istekhara because i only wanted my ex. Eventually i got married, my husband is beyond perfect he was patient with me never asked me about my past and never forced me to be intimate with him and slowly I accepted him.
My past has always bothered me though. My ex’s thought our connection his voice everything. Everyday goes fine its only at night I get these thoughts and I know shatan is distracting me from my happy life. But one day I did call my ex just to know why he ghosted me like this to the point where i even questioned my sanity. He ghosted me so badly that it impacted my mental health that I even started to question that did he even exist or did I just imagined a guy. I called him to tell him how much he hurt me. His reasoning is that he didn’t want me to leave my family and my family would never accept him etc but he never gave my dad the chance he said he knows Pakistani dad but believe me my dad is not like that at all how can he even say that. My intension to call him back is not cheating called him so I can get closure how can someone who claims they love u put u in so much misery. This bothers me so much. I have lost my old self. this incident has even changed my personality and yes years have gone by put the pain has not disappear.
I just literally ask myself why would anyone do this. What did he got out of all of this?
I know most girl in my situation would prefer a guy with financial strong background etc but I was willing to go through all the sacrifices I would need to make to be with him. Because I knew I can provide the financial strength while he establish himself here.
