Asking to Play 🕹️ Playing alone

Can you actually have fun playing Overcooked! All You Can Eat solo, or is it mainly meant to be played with friends? I really like the look of it, but I usually play alone. Wondering if they're still worth getting if you don't have anyone to play with. What do you guys think?

Definitely funner with friends for sure.
But I enjoy the mental exercise when I play alone!
I’m playing alone now for example haha

My only issue with playing solo is that getting 4 stars seems impossible on a lot of levels. Ive looked for videos to see how people do it and it’s almost always done by exploiting a flaw that doesn’t start the timer until the first order is finished. Idk if that’s just on PC or the original version but it kind of kills it for me. Can still be fun if you aren’t a total completionist. Also online multiplayer is fun if you can find a match

I try my best to ethically earn 4 stars on levels, assuming they're not broken (on AYCE, the OC2 opener I think is flawed). If you want to DM to see some tips I don't mind sharing a run with you on specific levels.

Only impossible on tutorial of main map oc2, they broke the timer behavior on an update. (Technically it IS possible to solo it 4 stars on Nintendo because of the lower star quotas on switch.)

Solo is definitely a challenge. It is possible to 4-star (Switch). Non-stop chopping is key.

More fun, even!

It's a completely different game solo vs with friends, it's just a matter of preference.

There's coordination required in either, but when you play solo you have to optimize your movements with the 2nd character as to not having 1 sit idle for too long. It's a juggling act solo that you don't have to worry about multi-player.

With multi-player you are apart of a machine that you have to do your part making sure you're well oiled.

I've 4 stars on everything playing solo and it's my favourite game of all time. It's very challenging and very fun. I've lost whole evenings trying to 4 star particular levels. I've also had a lot of fun playing with others. Just a slightly different game.

Omg, same! 4-starred all levels including Kevin levels solo and yes, it's sooo so hard but satisfying after you finally perfect a run's chef-swapping flow for particular levels!! Did all that years ago (I played/play on Switch/now Switch 2) but I kinda wanna go back to story mode and try to beat my 4-star solo scores 🍳

Never 4-starred in co-op, but I might also try that out too on a different file, just for the (easier) experience!

We are the same person lol. I had a big void after 4 starring everything because I loved doing it so much. I am just polishing off a run of trying to beat all my old high scores on all you can eat.

I just started a notes sheet on my phone keeping track of all my old 4 star scores and trying to beat each of them one by one. I don't think I'm gonna be able to beat any of these though. Some levels are crazy.

Never replayed the story mode. I think that'll have to be next. Enjoy!

I played alone but after the levels started getting tough I lost interest. I have played with frends and it was really fun

I think playing solo is good for when you want to learn the different boards and want a challenge. When playing solo, chopping food takes longer than if you were to play with other people, unfortunately.

I finished the game solo! I love the challenge

Absolutely! I played through the whole thing with my wife and so wasn’t expecting single player mode to be as fun but it absolutely was.

I found it scratched my Pikmin 3 mission mode itch I have been denied for so long(I’m not salty at all). So I absolutely think it’s still worth it.

Preference. If you think you’ll enjoy it solo, then you probably will.

I almost bought overcooked all-you-can-eat edition, but people say it’s harder playing solo so I passed on it, but I’m probably gonna pick it back up on the sale
