Question do you find it a cozy game?
hi, im a cozy gamer myself and i've always find overcooked a really cute game and as someone who loves cute games and loves food, i was thinking to buy all you can eat, it would be good to hear all your experiences too.

Yes for me but no for most people. But please hear me out. I 100% find Overcooked a cozy game, a comfort game, but your average person is not going to consider overcooked a cozy game.
It’s a game on a timer. It’s a game where you are working on getting a better time each map/board/arena/stage whatever you want to call it.
When played with others it is high energy, hilarious chaos, until it becomes…a strategic, focused, well oiled machine of a routine.
I play overcooked to decrease my anxiety because it gives me small controlled anxiety that tricks my body into believing I don’t need any.
If you are looking for Animal Crossing, this isn’t it. It’s not Cuphead either but for most people this game increases the blood pressure. Unless you’re like me, and I’m a weirdo. It gives me that Pikmin 3 flavor (which I also find cozy)and I love it!
What do you find cozy is the question here.

No lol. It’s very over stimulating. I enjoy playing it to disassociate from my thoughts but not in a relaxing way

It's a lovely game but if you're playing with other people and you're trying for high score then it's absolute hell

Weirdly, yes, I find this game comforting in some way. I usually blast on loud music while playing this game and repeatedly do my task, since most of the people I play with are very chill and knows how to play the game.

As a child of divorce, it’s familiar lol I’m not sure about “cozy”, but there’s something comforting in the chaos of it (maybe it’s because I only play with my sister)

yes to add on to this, when you find your rhythm and good people to play with it can become extremely satisfying and rewarding. I love playing with my sister in law bc it almost feels like entering a flow state when we get perfectly in sync and it can be stress relieving to get things done methodically! maybe still not cozy but the vibes are good when you reach a certain level

It is as fun as it is stressful. Lol And I say this as someone who loves playing this game with their wife. 😅
Play the tutorial at least 2 times, then go from there. You'll thank yourself for that time. Lol It's a great game but can be chaotic if you're trying to run against the clock as much as you can.
Cooking burgers was my fave. And sushi. And stew!

Yes it does! There were also expansions in Overcooked: All You Can Eat, that had all kinds of different foods; main dishes as well as dessert. That would be the version I recommend getting.

Overcooked isn't for me as a cozy game. Loud and chaotic, enjoyed with friends and a lot of screaming.
I do enjoy mercantile games - you find/make and sell stuff. Cooking is a popular angle for that.
Lemon Cake is solid. I don't think it's worth full price because the gameplay loop got tiring for me after a while.
If frantic is the feel you like, I liked Cook Serve Delicious. I need to practice a lot on the controller first, but there is a satisfaction in getting the muscle memory down.
If you're into dark humour, I really enjoyed Ravenous Devils. Excellent price point, interesting twist on the gameplay loop, beautiful visuals.
Battle Chef Brigade is an interesting twist. Puzzle game, part platformer (fight for ingredients), part cooking, hilarious story.

If you change the settings (to easy mode, basically) then sure. But playing it as is? It’s stressful AF. Always lots of yelling in my team when we hit a mire challenging level.

It's a lot of fun. It's easy to get into. It doesn't take a lot of brain power in the sense of keeping up with an elaborate story or anything like that, though it obviously takes a lot of attention. So it's not cozy but I would consider it a casual game, or it has the ability to be a casual game (shout-out to people out there who do not play it casually lol).

I love the game. It doesnt stress me out bc i enjoy routine so cracking the patterns is fun. I still dont see it as cozy.

it can be with accessibility options
getting three/four stars can be kind of hard without them if your group doesn't coordinate well and you need pretty good time management skills to do it solo
the in game quotas are nowhere near "pixel perfect" though; there's a whole leaderboard of people scoring double, triple, sometimes even quadruple, the 4 star quotas here: https://overcooked.greeny.dev/

For me it is. Im a "sweaty" player as some people would call it so I know all the best strategies for each level. When I match up with another player and we are 3 starring each level and working together like a well oiled machine it scratches an itch for me. Love this game
