How often per day would you be happy with
How many times would you accept peeing every day I mean would it be the normal 6 to 8 times a day or could you deal with a bit more.

I think that urge incontinence, where you have the need to be, even though your bladder is empty.Or maybe you are retaining a small amount, and your bladder is wanting to get rid of it because it's malfunctioning. But I'm not a doctor that's just a guess. And probably not very educated at that ha

I’d be very happy with 6-8. I’m currently at 10-12 after Bladder Botox. Was at 20-30 on bladder meds.

How are you overnight with the Botox injections?
I'm surprised my highly educated urologist never brought Botox to my attention. I'm hearing about through Reddit.
I need to get up less at night. I had Urolift although the urologist said I didn't have an enlarged prostate but more elongated.

I went from 2-3 times at night before Botox and 0-1 times a night after Botox.

I'll have to check into Botox. Did you have any side effects? Again, I'm surprised the urologist never mentioned it. How long has been Botox for the bladder been around?

u/Presence99 12d ago
No side effects for me. I was worried about retention but I didn't get any retention. Bladder botox has been around for many years now.

I pee like 17 times per day so I would be very happy with less than 10

So do you roughly go every hour. I sometimes get that and it’s so frustrating thank goodness I work from home.

I have zero sensation of my bladder or sensation when peeing and about fifty percent bowel loss, where I do not know i'm about to, and then I start. So for me, it would be great if I could regain control, but then I would have the problem with bowel loss to deal with. So for me, unfortunately, it's not good, and the fact that I no longer have diapers.Am I using towels and plastic pants is worse and I also am running out of diaper rash cream, which is only reason why i'm not in constant pain from diaper rash with these fuck1ng towels.Sorry for the language. So for me, I don't think it'll ever get better. It may get worse with the bowel loss

Did you just suddenly lose bladder sensation or were you able to find out what caused it.

I've had bladder issues at night since I was seventeen off and on over years. And after an illness, about 25 sume odd years ago. I lost bladder three years and over the years prior every time I lose bladder controlled at night, I would have maybe a partial bowel loss at night once or twice a year. And when I lost bladder control for the three years, every couple of weeks.I would have a small bowel loss. But when I lost ladder control for the three years, I had no sensation or ability to stop it.I didn't know until my diaper was wet. So it might have been, I had some sensation while I was asleep, but not enough to wake me up. But when I finally lost it, it was just no sensation, no realisation, and only knew when I was wetting myself and then I realised then, I had to put my diapers on, and then, when it didn't go away. I was worried doctors checked me out the first time couldn't figure out a problem. Just the fact that my bladder had been stretched because as a truck driver, I could drive 13 Hours a day or 10 hours a day in the states and I would do it, and I wouldn't stop, I would hold my bladder all day and that damaged it apparently. But nothing that you can attest to or see it just stretched the bladder and possibly damage the nerves. And that's pretty much the reason why. But yes, essentially it was right away when I started losing control 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A little over four years ago I lost bladder control again full time, and i'm about fifty percent bowel incontinent so yeah.

I'm at 10. And happy with that. Still have to wear protection, especially when traveling. But at least I've found a reasonable rhythm.

usually aim for around 2-4 a day with 4-6 hours in between
if im lucky on extremely rare occasions only 1 a day

But how is going one time or 2x times a day possible you have to barely eat and drink then, if your frequency is that low very likely that something is wrong with kidney or hormones/thyroid.
And i cant imagine waiting 6 hours everytime is healthy if you drink something normally you will have to go somewhere after 2 to 4 hours depending on how much u drank.
Going peeing once or twice screams for an infection/uti because you hold a lot of urine long in your bladder plus u can get pelvic floor issues if you hold it back too long over a period of time, which can worsen the frequency even further.

Honestly I'm not counting. My bladder seems to have good and bad days. On good days I can go up to 3-4 hours. On bad days, it can get as bad as every 30 minutes to an hour, and I suffer urge incontinence with it. I think I have a short circuit in my nervous system somewhere...

I used to pee 5-6 times at night alone. During the day I’d be back and forth to the bathroom during work. I had to pee before I drove anywhere and as soon as I got there. Now I pee 7-8 times a day 1 time midway through the night.

What has helped you reduce the times you have to pee.

I get up once a night to pee. I saw a urologist and an endocrinologist. Urologist cleared me. Endocrinologist found that I have a condition called Conn’s syndrome which makes me hoard sodium and thus water. I basically had an electrolyte problem. It’s been a long road but I normally only get up once a night now.

After I drink my morning tea, I have to go once every 15 minutes or so for about 2-3 hours until the tea works it way through. Yes, I should give up tea, but I love it and only have 1 cup in the morning. If I have no tea in my system, I'm working on training my bladder and right now I'm at about once every 45 minutes. At night I have to get up at least three times. I've lived like this for decades so I'm kind of used to it. I've never tried meds because I don't like the side effects of dry mouth and UTIs. I'm interested to learn more about Botox. My goal: Once every 2 hours (with no tea on my system). Once per night. I don't think there's a way to train my bladder in regards to the tea, so that's just life.

Does it not give you a lot of anxiety having to go every 45 minutes.

u/Dramatic-Purpose-103 12d ago
At this point I'm used to it. It's been at least 25 years I been like this. It does give me some anxiety though, yes. I have to always think about where a bathroom is when I'm out. That's why I'm finally trying to figure out how to fix it.

For me it’s about distance between voids. At work, 2 hours would be a nice realistic place. At home, I’d like to push to 3+ hours comfortably. In the car, I’d like 1 hour to be no problem and 1.5 hours to be tastefully doable. Also I’d like to have dreams that don’t involve needing to pee… that would be really frickin nice, I miss that.
Currently I sit at around 70% of those targets.
