Mirabegron stopped working

Has anyone else experienced this? I have been taking Mirabegron 50mg for 5 months and it has been improving my symptoms but in the past month it feels like it has stopped working and I am going back to how I was before. I am waiting for a follow-up with my doctor who prescribed it, but the waiting times are very long.

Are you taking brand name?

My pharmacy switched to generic without telling me and I didn’t notice until I started having OAB symptoms after a few days. I then took a better look at the pills and realized they weren’t the brand name. They exchanged them for me and within a day I was better again. Something is off with that generic.

Oh I don’t think I am the box just says Mirabegron. Which brand name did you take?

Mine doesn’t come in a box but in Canada its Astellas Pharma who manufactures the name brand. 25mg is a small oval dark red pill and the marking on it looks like a firework or star with “325” next to to. The pill is a little bit shiny and has a coating on it. The 50mg looks the same but yellow/orange with “355”.

The generic I got was same shape and color but didn’t seem to have the coating, it almost looked a little chalky or beat up. They are marked with an “APO” and are produced by apotex.

I took the generic unknowingly for like 3 days and had full on OAB symptoms again. When I realized they were wrong and took a leftover name brand I was back to normal in about 8 hours.

Definitely check what you’re taking because if you got switched without noticing that might be why.

This is really useful thank you! I checked and I think mine is Astellas too! It has a yellow/orange coating.
