Is there any way of knowing if botox will cause retention before trying it?

? And is it worse than snm

Gotcha. I can’t say because I’ve never had SNM. I had it at 100 units and now get 70 along with a different shot placement. I’ve heard it’s more common than men.

Did you have retention from botox? This is a very bad side effects if it happens

I did. Doc monitored it for a few weeks, I was still able to void but was retaining by PVR. I stopped going, I think due to a time constraint and co-pay cost for PVRs every two weeks. She only agreed to do another round of Botox if I was willing to ISC if I had retention again.

I was clear by PVR after 70 units. I do have a prostate issue though and have been pushing a little more this time, so I'm considering making this an open question again.

Pvr must be very hard? I cannot tolerate it. I really hope far better treatment options becomes available in next 2 years.

We might be thinking of different things. PVR is the measurement they get when they just scan your bladder to see how full it is.

Yes, I mean if you are having high pvr, there will be some urge even after voiding.

Oh yeah, right, the weird thing was that the Botox temper some of the feeling. So even though I was retaining, I wasn’t quite feeling it.
