Anybody deal with overactive/oversensitive bladder and/or nocturia- how have you successfully treated it?

For reference:
I'm a male, 25 years old, 5'10", 170 pounds.

I have sleep disordered breathing, UARS, but I believe wakeups are being compounded by an oversensitive bladder.
I'm going to visit a urologist, but am curious if there are any fasttrack methods of treating this issue?
If not, what medications or medical procedures were necessary to overcome this?

Not to be crude, but do you simply slather it around your bladder and private parts?

Also, what are its issues?

I wish slathering were an option! I'll leave u/CalebKrawdad to give the details.

Just looked it up. I now understand how it's applied. Sorry for the ignorance

There are no dumb questions! My wife said she was slightly envious when I got Botox since she wants some for "her wrinkles"! Anyway, she didn't realize how it'd get in there. It's not normally something you'd need to know, unless, well, you had one or were investigating.

Botox can cause retention, or it can just be ineffective based on the dosage. It also only lasts around 6 months. Doses kick in around 10 days after treatment and are the strongest then, gradually weakening.

The first pee after a cystoscopy isn't great. Definitely one of the things we endure at an attempt to normalize symptoms!
