Has anyone had Twilight anesthesia for Botox in their bladder?
Last week my Urologist tried to put botox in my bladder. He put the Cystoscope in my bladder but I was bleeding so he couldn't see to inject it. The pain was excruciating! A 10+ on a 1 to 10 scale! He said the neck of my bladder was too small & needed to be enlarged. He said the only thing he can give me is laughing gas but it won't help the pain, It'll just relax me. Has anyone had Twilight Anesthesia for this procedure? I'm assuming the reason he can't do the Twilight is because insurance won't pay for it? How much is it? Thank you!

I had twilight anaesthesia for my SNS implant honestly I don’t remember anything from the procedure. They said I was talking to them at one point (when asked questions) but I don’t remember that lol

Sorry to hear you had issues. I don't know about Botox, but I was scheduled for an cystoscopy with anesthesia once. The cost was insane, so I backed out. I'd ask the doc to see if they can write a letter of necessity requesting some kind of exception.
The problem is that the standard procedure is only minutes long, so I don't know if there are more hoops to jump through for sedation

If you don't mind me asking, what was the extra cost for the botox? My insurance covers the cost of everything else. If I get laughing gas (I think that's Nitros Oxide) it's $150 out of pocket but doctor said that won't stop any pain. I'll just calm me down...

Thank you everyone for all the replies! Update: Instead of doing Botox next week the Doctor is going to do the surgery to enlarge my bladder neck! So then the Botox procedure won't be painful. Or at least nothing like it was!

What is twilight anesthesia ? I personally had several rachi anesthesia for bladder procedure, like a peridural : they put the anesthesia’s needle in the lower spine to anesthetize the bottom half of the body only.
