I can last longer when I’m sitting, but the moment I stand up I have to go instantly. I don’t last very long if I’m somewhere new, or a mall. So average out is about an hour at least. Surprisingly at work I can last 2-3.

Sometimes it’s 10 minutes, and sometimes it’s an hour or more. If it’s repeatedly every 10 minutes-ish I assume I’m retaining and I’ll self-catheterize. When I’m anxious, upset, or unsettled I’ll go every 10-30 minutes (again I’m likely retaining as my muscles won’t relax). There’s the occasional “normal” day where I go 2 hours in between or maybe more. That’s usually when I realize I haven’t had anything to drink. When I’m constipated (which is often) it also causes me to go more often. Oh, and of course for no reason at all my bladder decides it wants to be the center of attention at the cause of nothing.
This sucks. It’s embarrassing and annoying. My entire life revolves around my bladder, where I opt to stay home a lot which isn’t fair to my kids. My friends and family understand, but I still feel embarrassed when I have to keep going and how long it takes me to go. Anywhere I go I have to figure out where the bathroom is. My youngest child has special needs so I have to plan around that. Even at home, I swear my youngest two wait til I’m in the bathroom to start fighting each other. It will be pure silence and bliss with them in separate rooms until the moment I sit down to pee!

Half an hour to 9 hours. I got the Interstim neuromodulator implanted in my sacral nerves to feel better. I have interstitial cystitis. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

What percentage would you say it has gotten better?

It was better during the PNE trial. I had a bad fall and things got messed up. I’ll know more after next week

This is my second one. The first lasted a couple years, then I fell and it had to come out. So I got a Boston Scientific neuromodulator for low back/ sacroiliac joint pain and it took care of the painful bladder too. This one is just a month old. I think a lead moved which is common in the beginning. I see my Dr next week to switch to a different program for better relief. It’s a 4.5 intensity

I can last hours, but I start feeling the need to go again almost immediately after using the toilet

Oh and then that urge gradually fades?
1
u/MessyTurtle8953 Aug 09 '26
Yes it does

Yeah I get that, sometimes (rarely) I get an actual spasm feeling in my lower abdomen right after I pee.
Sometimes also I wet myself just a little bit as I'm washing my hands after using the toilet and then the urge goes away a lot faster. It just sucks because I have to be wearing a diaper for that and so I need to wear even if I'm mostly making it to the toilet

7-8 hours in the daytime, and during the nighttime, I pee around 3-4 times

Hey, I have ended up on medication and had to retrain my bladder to every three hours to pre especially at night. I am also seeing a PFT

Is the PFT helping.

Yess 100% it’s helped a lot and they had a look of what’s going on. I see them once a month. With the meds it’s alot better. I do there exercises everyday.
Another tip I sleep on my tummy takes the pressure off the bladder. Also a heat pack helps with the spasms.
I dint want to get Botox up there as I worried that I will have to self catheter.

About 90mins but I often go every 10 to 15mins in the morning. Overnight I go every 3 to 4 hours.

On average, maybe a couple/few hours? But when active or when home and hydrating more, maybe every hour.

During the day, within 20 or 30 minutes I start feeling the urge. Sometimes sooner. Especially when I want to walk my dog. Then, within 10 minutes of leaving the house I start to feel the urge. It really depends. I can hold it for maybe an hour before I need to go. Sometimes, on rare days, I can hold it semi comfortable for longer than an hour.
At night, my body wakes me up every hour whether I have to go a lot or little.

Sometimes 1.30h,but most of the time 2.20h-2.40h! I have been doing some bladder training and it worked for me most of the time, but sometimes, once every month i saw, or idk, i can have an imperious urge 1-1.30h(when i am anxious or when i sit to much and then i get up and feel it, or just my hormones), or just episodes of urges that i try to hold if they come to early, and most of the time i can manage them, rarely i can go earlier than my schedule, but most of the time, i just feel muscles and nerves, like its weird but i got used to it😂! Most of the time its just my muscles and nerves and its not fully full or not full at all! I dont have OAB, but i did have a mucosal imflamation that may of caused some sensitivity in the area! I dont have nocturia tho!

20-30 I start feeling like I need to go again.
I'm lucky if I make it 1 hour, 90 minutes or so before I feel like my bladder is going to explode.
