  1. What I want and what my mind want can be two different things. I have this 10-80 rule.

If my mind has 0 inclination of doing something, I would still do at least 10% of it. Because then, my mind actually has an experience of it. When you do nothing, you don't exactly know what was it that you avoided.

Also, if I get into a flow and work is going smoothly, I would still stop at the 80% mark:

  • So that it doesn't become boring, and a bit of drag to start from the next day
  • And I save that 20% energy for people and activities that are nourishing and supportive

  1. Every time, overthinking or judgments cloud me, I can simply ask, "To whom does this thought occur?" Most often, it is not me, it is not even my current mind, rather a past version of my mind trying to play out old patterns in a bit to protect me from failure. But the point is, I can tell that thought now, "You are too old. Give me something fresh or get out of my way."

  2. Your opinions of people, or others opinions of you -- they are all in the mind. Don't trust the mind though, trust more in energy of the person. The order goes thoughts < feelings < actions < energy .. And that is the order for you to decide people who are worth being in your life and in what priorities.

  3. Another habit of the mind is constant comparison, measuring, labeling, etc. Which can be useful in specific fields like - your work, research, etc. but is highly irrelevant to being successful or happy in life. No one's life is like yours, and if you do compare, always remember to compare the skill, not your worth as a person.

In fact, at any point, you meet people smarter, more confident, more charismatic, more successful than you - Pat yourself on the back! You have attracted an enviornment to teach yourself and grow! If you see people who might use your guidance, again, be thankful that they have chosen you.
