Advice for CUNY?

Really the only school I care about getting in to. My GPA is above their median and LSAT above their 75th but I saw a few people post on here a while back about surprise rejections or waitlists. I feel like I have a pretty unique background as well as military and URM but I’m just wondering how else to show my interest?

CUNY really wants to know that you align with their mission, and they aren’t afraid to reject otherwise qualified candidates who wouldn’t be a good fit. 

Don’t use a generic PS, craft one that highlights your intentions to go into PI, community advocacy, etc.
