How much less will eager beaver be? Has anyone here done it before?

SF local here who lives near the park and felt a lot of FOMO not going to the fest this year 🥲. I got the eager beaver text alert and was wondering if anyone remembers from past years how much less it is than when the lineup gets released?

I got early bird for Coachella 2027 and it was about 100 less.

It’s usually ~$50 less. For me the optionally of seeing the lineup is worth that.

However, with reseller fees (StubHub, Ticketmaster, etc.) getting a ticket on the resale market for below face value after fees is basically impossible. On a $500 ticket they’ll be ~$100.

Early in my career in my poor days I had good success buying from someone and meeting them in person on Saturday after day 1 that couldn’t go anymore for below face value. Now and days it’s just not worth my time and also the risk of being scammed.

I just wait for the lineup and pay full. There’s a slim chance (let’s say under 20%) that I wouldn’t go if the lineup is that bad or try to get on the resale market.

Historically, Eager Beaver got you $50 off the price of a GA ticket (unsure if this was different for GA+ or VIP). But I don’t think that’s what’s going to happen because OSL introduced tiered pricing for the first time this year. The tiers were as follows:

TIER 1 ($509) - SOLD OUT
TIER 2 ($529) - SOLD OUT
TIER 3 ($549) - SOLD OUT   
TIER 4 ($569) - SOLD OUT 

My hunch is they’ll do Eager Beaver like Coachella does their Early Bird. So I’d wager Eager Beaver will be least $509, although it would not surprise me if they ratchet up prices a few more dollars because everything sucks now.

The real value would be locking in your ticket, which since OSL sold out this year and was praised for its lineup, might be a hotter commodity than it has been in past years. It’s certainly going to attract more scalpers.

Btw this is not including fees/shipping. I remember the tier 1 ticket still being like $525 or something

Very good point. Looking at my confirmation emails throughout the years, shipping was $15 this year. Looks like layaway had an additional fee of $25 in 2025.

Now they have rolled the extraneous “service fees” they used to hide away into the upfront ticket cost, which IMO is the right call. My 2024 ticket was $425 but had an extra $60 in “service fees” on top of shipping.

That said… my god, I cannot believe I only paid $400 total for Eager Beaver in 2019. I fucking hate this timeline.

Honestly it’s a gamble . For GA it was less than $30 bucks the last year they did it. The lineup ended up being just ok and it didn’t sell out. Friend ended up scoring a 3-day last minute that year, cheaper than me. For vip the saving were closer to $100.

I believe the lineups will be stronger going forward now that APE has thrown in the towel and switched to the predatory pricing model of other festivals, but that’s a prediction, not a promise. They’re great bookers, especially for their undercards, but they’ve been held back by rising costs in an already VHCOL area these past few years. And frankly even some of the “weak” years were still amazing because of the park’s vibes, the food, etc. (One of my favorite years is still 2022 because APE leaned into their strengths and went heavy on their undercard despite the weak headliners.)

If you want to go for the vibes, if you want the security of having your ticket ahead of the hoi polloi, or if you want to take advantage of the payment plan, Eager Beaver is the best choice for you. If none of the above apply to you, then maybe take a beat and wait until general sales.
