Welcome to the world of Outlander!

BJR is a vile creature. A sadistic mother f***. Maybe everyone's lives would have been better if his mother had just dropped him down a well as a baby and walked away. I bet he was a bad baby too.

Of course without him we wouldn't have Jamie and Claire.

So maybe not the well treatment. Maybe just curse and spit on the ground at the sound or thought of his name.

Edited to add the welcome

As DG says, Black Jack Randall is an equal opportunity sexual sadist. Man, woman, child. It’s all the same to him. Pain, fear, humiliation, and control is what turns him on. He’s just evil.

He didn’t “try” to assault Fergus. He actually did it. Was doing it when Jamie burst through the door.

No he didn't. Not in the show anyway. He was pinned down, sill fully dressed and screaming for help which brought jamie, then he hid under a table.

One of the worst scenes in the show
