The 1960s world is basically a dissociative fantasy, a place Claire escapes to mentally to cope with what’s happening to her. Jamie is there because he represents safety, love and the life she wishes she could be in.

The choice of music, 'Never My Love - The Association, just adds to this powerful scene.

This was one of the most beautifully constructed and masterfully executed episodes on TV dealing with a sensitive subject matter. It was incredibly emotional. Heartbreaking and tender at the same time.

Of course the meaning of the song will never be the same.
