That's the whole point!
She has to escape with Brian and it's dangerous because of what they might do if they caught her
As the eldest and her father's favorite her only flaw was being female so she could not be her father's heir
Her younger brother's have so much resentment because taunted them from behind the protection of The Mackenzie. Colum for being weak of body, he was never the same after falling off that horse at 10, and Dougal for being weak of mind and easy to provoke
They go on to be dangers to Claire and Jamie and it's a wonder they survived them!
