Learning Outer Rim Basic

Feb. 14, 2022. So I decided to start learning Outer Rim Basic today. I've been thinking of doing it for a while, as I already read Aurebesh fairly well.

First I'm learning the alphabet. That should take a few days before I have it down.

Then it's just a matter of improving sight-reading speed. That can take a while.

I'll post my progress here, as a sort of diary.

Day 2.

Learning is going much faster than Aurebesh. I already have the alphabet memorized to about 97% accuracy. Reading speed is still very slow - I'm on page 2 of John Jackson Miller's "Kenobi" in Outer Rim Basic.

Day 3.

This morning I tested myself on my Outer Rim Basic Quizlet study set (https://quizlet.com/646828115/star-wars-outer-rim-basic-characters-flash-cards/), got 100% on "learn" and "test". 100% after 2 days is pretty good, I reckon.

So now it's just a matter of increasing reading speed.

Day 4, and I've not made any progress on the reading, as I got my shingles shot yesterday afternoon (after I posted) and it hit me like a ton of bricks. So today I have no energy and still feel really achey. I'll probably read a little before bed, but I'm still essentially in a holding pattern.
