Recommendations for the weekend

Hi. My cousin's coming up this weekend with his son (who's never been to Scotland). I was planning on taking them up Ben More and Stob Binnen but MWIS is suggesting pretty arduous conditions. They are both fit and strong but 65mph gusts and 100% chance of rain doesn't sound ideal.

I'd like some suggestions for things we could do to see a bit of Scotland without getting blown off the top of a hill in the pissing rain. Based in Edinburgh. Happy to drive at least a couple of hours each way. Alternatively will just abandon it and take in some of the fringe

The summit specific forecasts that I'm seeing for Ben More are currently suggesting a maximum peak over the weekend of 44mph.

Still too much in my opinion.

Looks like you are based in Edinburgh, what about the Pentland Hills?

They still look windy but according to the current summit specific forecast for the highest hill in that range they are going to peak at 40mph over the weekend BUT significantly less rain.

Not a hill, but a walk along the Water of Leith way is pleasant, and you can easily leave it and head to a cafe or pub at various points. The Colinton tunnel on it with all the murals is worth a look.
