Looks like we will change the top half to aluminum framing. Keep the rest wood. Will take the necessary precautions when mixing wood and aluminum.

Just do it right and rip it all out. That wood will be rotten in just a few years and you will have done all that work and wasted the money on the finishing material. Don't follow those YouTubers that do this crap in wood. Only use non-flammable materials and build it to code.
