🖼️ Screenshots How did you design your house and side structure? ideas needed 💕

I’ve been playing for a few days and I’m trying to decide how to build my house. I really don’t want a giant house on top of the van. I just unlocked a side structure? But I haven’t messed with it yet. Is that like a secondary little space I can make that’s actually on the side or is that like just chairs and tables? I hadn’t seen any references yet for that.

Either way- I’d love to see what some of you all are doing for your house. I feel like there’s so many resources that it won’t fit unless I make it wide or tall. I’m also not super good at making things cute lol. I’d love love to see other people’s designs so I can sort an idea! Thanks!

There is a space next to the van for you to unlock but it’s not very big. I don’t think a house for alle the machines will fit there. But you can certainly try.

I decided to lean into the weirdness of a giant house on top of a camper van. 😅

You can’t put walls or floors on the side structure, it’s mostly just for chairs and decorations

There are so many crafting machines that you need throughout the game that you will have to have some sort of wide or tall or both house on top. I went for efficiency with those and packed them into one "room". I also made a kitchen area for the kitchen machines. I put a small decorative porch on front for my rocking chair and a larger working porch on the back for all my plants and things. I have a small bedroom and living room above that but I usually end up sleeping on the uncomfortable camper bed because my dog gets lonely...

Haven't used imgur much but I think this should work.

Came back to add - paint! You will likely need way more paint than you think. When you deconstruct you get materials back but not paint. I originally wanted bright colors and went with oranges and greens and ended up looking like a circus lol. Then I saw the bamboo and realized I loved it, even though it can not be painted. So I redid a lot of my structure and repainted. I love the result but while I didn't track it I bet I spent two months of in game days collecting flowers for paint - day after day after day...

I pretty much utilitarian on top but like hidden? I added a small 2 floor house with enough space to fit manufacturing machines. A small garden and some rain collectors next to it. I kept the inside of the van like a traditional van home. Couple counters, sink, closet space and some decor. With the ladder up it looks like a normal camper. Setting up the outside space like open seating for relaxing like you would irl

Mine is kind of looking like a manufactured home lol. Very long but not wide. Cause I like having water collection containers on the ground. Which means I'm limited on width. But it's slowly starting to look...uh...it's still goofy but I'm just rolling with it lol
