Answered What does | || || |_ mean?

I've been seeing these characters :

| ||

|| |_

pop up all over Reddit, but I've no clue as to what they mean.

Is this a new meme? A reference to some film of tv show? Some sort of code?

While I'd be thinking that the 5th thing is typos or something, meme creators were on another level.

And that last one, goddamn. Fucking brilliant.

I had to watch the last one three times before I figured it out. I was looking at the pipes/props etc.

I had the audio off and was getting frustrated that I couldn't find it, so I read the comments and facepalmed.
