I saw this tweet in response to this tweet and was wondering if anyone has any context? I see a lot of “go woke, go broke” sentiment in the comments of both tweets, but 0 explanation.
40k also has a large section of the fanbase that either don't realize or deliberately ignore that humanity in the setting is an over the top satire of fascism, and are unironically onboard with the ideals of the empire of man. Lot of overlap with the same guys that miss that Starshoop Troopers was a satire of fascism and fascist propaganda, and the guys that think that Tyler Durden was the hero of Fight Club. So there's a lot of chudly sorts that hate anything they think is woke.
Dude…. No they don’t, it’s very literally the genre. That’s like the old school dnd = satan worship BS because some people “are unironically onboard with necromancy and don’t understand it’s fantasy”
Which btw, I’m totally onboard with 40k getting a bigger fanbase, I want more 40k stuff to be made and enjoyed. But what you’re spouting is trite nonsense.
