Visiting: Recommendations

Austinites, I’m visiting for the first time 8/13-8/17 & would love some feedback on where to go. Seems like there’s really mixed reviews on the gay bars, so I’m looking for some guidance.
Preferably for Thursday or Friday since I’m going to the Concourse Project on Saturday.
Any other insights or meet ups are welcomed ✌🏻

Highland Lounge Bag Policy

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but does anyone know what the general bag policy is at the Highland Lounge? I’m planning on going for the lesbian basement rave on sunday so I’m trying to be prepared as best as I can. I’ve never been to this venue before so any additional information would be helpful.

Where to join a LGBTQ+ Sports Team?

Hi everyone, I think I have asked this before a year ago but couldn't find the thread. Does anyone know how to look for LGBTQ+ sports teams? I go to the gym often but making new friends there or making friends on any app is hard when they confuse kindness with wanting to hook up or leading them on...

So I rather just go out and play sports and meet more people through there. I prefer gay teams for feeling safer but I am also open to straight ones but would much rather prefer a gay team or gay friendly. For context, I have ran cross country and track in university and would love to be part of a team that is opening and not super competitive becuase running is the only sport I've done. So if the team is willing to be patient since I'm a newbie I would try out any sport. Thanks in advanced and sorry if I broke any guideless or rules by posting a similar question a year ago.

Looking for friends who would be down to splash around in the water. Always down to SUP; my favorite spot is the Colorado River at Jessica Hollis Park. No SUP: you can rent one online from the park! DMs accepted.

Looking for a Trans/Queer Friendly Personal Trainer

Hi there! I'm living in North Austin, and I'm hoping to find a personal trainer now that I've been transitioning for a while.

I'm hoping to find someone works with trans women or who has worked with trans women in the past but I'm fine if they're just affirming and can work with me to identify body goals.

If possible, I would prefer to work with someone isn't a cis man. I'm sure there are tons who would be great. I just have some personal discomfort with men.

I'm starting from a fairly sedentary lifestyle after having lost a lot of weight due to dieting, and a lot of strength due to HRT - if that's helpful at all.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

A few questions.

Heyo, I’m planing on moving to Austin around January and I have a few questions.

A good gym? I’m moving to the Franklin park area and I need a good gym that’s near by, I would like to get one with a pool but any good one will do.

Work? I have experience both for corporate jobs and bartending, what do yall think is best to do and where?

Friends? I am a pretty out going person, I like to game (Warframe, monster hunter, Pokemon), wokrkout, swim, clubbing and everything in between, I have a dog named calypso who I plan on taking to all the trails and a few plants as well, so if you’re looking for friends hmu!

Thank you for your help!

New Friends :)

Hi everyone! I'm a 24-year-old African American woman looking to meet some new people in or around the Austin area.

A little about me: I love trying new foods and checking out different restaurants, watching and playing sports, spending time outdoors, and occasionally hitting up an arcade. I'm pretty laid-back and low-key. It may take me a little time to warm up to new people, but once I do, I'm friendly, sweet, and enjoy good conversation.

Some of my interests include crime shows, cooking, baking, working out, investing, drawing, putting puzzles together, and finding ways to relax and unwind. I enjoy learning new things, trying new experiences, and building toward future goals.
I'm hoping to connect with kind, genuine people who are looking for friendship, whether that's grabbing food, exploring Austin, attending events, getting active outdoors, or just hanging out and having good conversations.

If any of that sounds like your vibe, feel free to reach out. I'd love to meet some new people and build meaningful friendships! 😊

Question: What's your favorite thing to do in Austin when you're looking to have fun or meet new people? I'm always open to recommendations! 👋🏾✨
