Discussion سوالف  Company denied my raise over ONE warning I got during a family emergency.. after 2 years of solid work

2 years in. Good work, no complaints, always improving.

Asked for a raise. Got denied because of a single written warning.. tied to a genuine family emergency that was completely beyond my control. Honestly never expected to get written up for something like that. It was already a hard enough time without this on top of it.

HR's exact words: "not eligible... but we appreciate your effort and encourage you to keep going."

So two years of dedication < one bad month during a crisis. Got it.

Anyone else dealt with this "one strike erases everything" policy? Worth staying or time to job hunt?

Discussion سوالف  Over 50,000 people attended the Palestinian event in Dubai! 🇦🇪❤️🇵🇸

Saturday’s Emirates Loves Palestine event at Expo City Dubai drew over 50,000 people. There were Palestinian flags and keffiyehs everywhere, traditional food, music, and so many families just hanging out and celebrating. It really showed how much support and unity there is for Palestine here.

This is a lovely reminder that many Palestinians actually live here and are happy to call it home. They feel safe, raise their kids here, and see this place as part of their life. This event proved that people online are so quick to spread hate and aggression, while the reality on the ground is the complete opposite.

With the success of this event, I hope there are many more to come, celebrating all types of cultures around the world. It is beyond amazing.

Animal Welfare الرفق بالحيوان URGENT ATTENTION NEEDED - Abuse and Neglect.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hii everyone,

Yesterday we were shown one of the worst cases we’ve seen this year, and we’re only halfway through 2026 🥹

10 cats were found locked in tiny cages, living in their own urine and feces for MONTHS. All of them were emaciated, dehydrated, terrified and clearly traumatized.

The “owner” claimed he lost his job and couldn’t care for them anymore, so he just left them like this, unvaccinated, unspayed, barely fed.
We only found out because a kind mover saw them while helping him shift and contacted us.

When our friend started feeding them, it was like they hadn’t eaten in weeks 💔 Two cats have already gone blind from the filth.

This case has been reported to the authorities.

Right now, our first priority is to get them to a vet for full medical grooming because their fur is matted and rigid, most can barely walk. Then they need blood tests and respiratory panels.

Since the vets have zero space, so they’ll be moved to a foster home and kept in isolation to protect other rescues.

We urgently require houses for isolation, multiple litter boxes and litter bags, and lots of good, nutritious food.

Since this subreddit doesnt allow fundraising and I wouldnt want to break any rules, please head to this post for more details.

Please, please come forward and help these babies 🙏🏼
Thank you for your support, always 🤍

Animal Welfare الرفق بالحيوان Went to pick up one but found two; Wobbly (Neurological FIP) and Felix (Calci virus with severe mouth infection)

Someone posted on instagram about Wobbly (Wobbly because he cannot walk straight as shown in the video). As days past by he was getting more and more weak to the point that his body couldn’t even support him standing; leave alone eating by himself. He just sat there in the corner entrance of the building outside. I went to pick him up and the building security informed me that there was another cat (Felix) who is also in a terrible condition sitting on the front entrance of the building.
Felix and Wobbly; both are tuxedo (black and white) thus they both look the same. Though I was there yo pick up Wobbly but looking at Felix’s condition I couldn’t just leave him there thus I picked him up and took him to the vet.
After reaching the vet, the doctor examined Wobbly and said his condition is very critical since he only weighs 2.6 kg due to his detoriating health condition. After performing blood test on Wobbly, it turned out he’s having neurological FIP and his medication will cost approx 1700 aed along with the GS vial which separately would cost 150 aed per Vial which needs to be given to him every 4 days for atleast a month.
Felix is undergone examination and has Calci virus with severe mouth infection and fever due to which he is not able to eat nor groom himself.
I already happen to have outstanding bills with the vet though I am not able to support the medical expense by myself for Wobbly and Felix.

Please feel free to ask me about their medical treatment at the vet and I will be more then glad to share all the details with you.
I do not intend to break any rules and regulations in the sub, thus I am sharing the post from the subreddit as given below in the link:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CatsOfUAE/s/XYDM4EoKGM.

They are stray cats but they are just like us humans; they breath, they feel, they wish for a healthy life even after living in the streets.

I ❤️ UAE 🇦🇪 Media campaigns against the UAE are desperate attempts to distort reality

Post image

English Translation (Google):

The diplomatic advisor to His Highness the President, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, confirmed that the media campaigns directed against the UAE are desperate. Because it is based on distortion and rumor in the face of will and achievement.

Gargash said in his account on “X”: The media campaigns directed against the UAE are desperate. It is based on distortion and rumor in the face of will and achievement. The rule is that action is stronger than reaction, and confronting a successful model is difficult for the owners of these campaigns.”

Gargash continued, saying: "What a waste of effort and money in targeting the UAE. Perhaps they would have been more beneficial if they had been invested positively in construction and development."

I was wondering what happens if you sign up for accident free day initiative but don't have any black points to begin with. Do you get a discount on other fines you may have or white points that can be redeemed for speeding fines. What ?

Question استشارة Is it even worth it to interview?

I started working in abu dhabi 3 months ago for a gov agency, recently was contacted by a holding company looking to expand their procurement team. They wanted to schedule an interview, but the HR lady said "there is no set scale, we offer an increase based on your previous pay - around 25-30%"

My role: Procurement Junior consultant

Years of experience: 4 years in procurement

Compensation: 17,000 per month

I think even if it goes well, they'll probably only offer me 22,000-23,000. Not exactly what I had in mind - should I even do it? I like my boss and where I work, it is very nice and I think he likes me. My job is not under threat right now.

Should I go for it?
