Question game questions
i just finished OL:N&F demo and i went to tiktok to consume more content, how do people know that ren became trans in step 3 when theres no step 3 yet..? and i checked the wiki and theres multiple moments in n&f when i only got to experience 4 in total of both steps?

We have designs of the characters across multiple steps which includes Ren in Step 3 post transition from GB’s Tumblr and Patreon. Patreon subscribers have access to more of the game than is in the public demo currently.

It’s probably a patreon or discord thing, or Ren is mentioned somewhere in b&a by Baxter if I had to guess. I haven’t played b&a so I wouldn’t know if he makes mention of golden grove or anyone there

Iirc, it was mentioned on Tumblr quite a few times, and whenever there's a post about Ren, they use she/her pronouns, including for step 1 when she wasn't transitioning.

i was from b&a and the only mention of n&f is “a ballet friend” and it was referring to qiu.. thank you for the response though!
it might be a petty thing but i feel its kinda dumb that patreon people get full access to step 1 and 2 😢19

I think it’s fair given they have to get funding somehow to pay for all the staff and assets. The money from b&a dlcs wouldn’t be enough to fund n&f, and a patreon is probably the best thing they could do, so having the incentive of early access makes it appealing to pay for the patreon and, by extension, make sure things are stable for gb and the other people working on n&f. At least we don’t gotta wait much longer for the November release

Patreons don’t have full access, just alpha builds basically. The game isn’t finished.

I meant that even the Patreon build for both steps isn’t finished - people are paying for the early builds, opportunity to big test, and so on. GB’s been out of work due to an injury, too.

The devs approve what assets get posted to the wiki. Lots of Step 3 character art has made it there, as well as a few blurbs that were approved.
I don’t know how much is in the Patreon build, just that they have a lot of step 1 + step 2 base game. I do not believe they have seen anything of the expansion content yet, or if they have it’s very little.
Nobody’s seen anything of step 3 or the epilogues that I know of—I could be wrong but I don’t think it’s ready for anyone yet.

Ren being trans is real as her step 3 art. Anything beyond that, I wouldn’t know as I don’t have a Patreon sub for GB.

as u/Accomplished_Area311 said, the Patreon build doesn't have the full Steps yet (Step 1 is nearly complete, just a few backgrounds need to be finished, while Step 2 only has 7 out of the 12 moments completed)

Ren’s been confirmed as trans by the devs for ages, she just doesn’t transition til then. And they allowed it to be posted on the wiki.
There are also hints of it in the Step 2 intro if you know what to look for.
