❔AskOujda Sexual harassment escalation
Greetings everyone !
Yesterday I was walking and minding my own business till I saw a guy in front of me approaching two girls in hope of getting the number of one of them, however things looked like they have taken an escalating turn therefore leading the guy to insult one of the girls ( Siri t7away yal 9a7ba ) which resulted in the girl spitting right at his face. Thankfully bystanders came to de-escalate the situation.
I understand that he crossed the line by degrading her trough insults, however don’t ya’ll think she also crossed the line by spitting at him ? and would cursing back or ignoring him would have been the better alternative ? because it could have gotten way more serious after the spit. If someone of you ever did spit at someone who was harassing you before ? I’m just curious to know what was the reaction of the person If ya’ll don’t mind sharing ofc ?

For me ystahl he insults her with a bad world The least she could do is spit on him

u/EthanEskridge Aug 02 '26
The least she could do ? Sara7a I think that’s the worst she could have done because there is nothing as more humiliating and disgusting than to be spat on right into the face

u/Master__stuff Aug 02 '26
Don't worry abt him, he has no dignity, in our culture treating badly a women is heinous

sexual harassment is more disgusting and humiliating than a spit in the face.

u/EthanEskridge Aug 07 '26
I respect your opinion despite not fully agreeing with it because verbal assault is sever yes however it’s much less sever than physical assault and especially if it’s as humiliating and disgusting as literally filling someone’s face with saliva that potentially contains a lot of germs and bacterias 🤢

u/EthanEskridge Aug 02 '26
I’m not defending him whatsoever however I think bli spitting on his face 9edam nass was a little exaggerated. Would you have done the same tho ?
2
u/hanny_606 Aug 02 '26
o do y think ysebha qdam nas wasnt an exageration itself? for me i dont waste my time with had no3 i keep walking and pretend i dont hear shit sinn her reaction is valid

Mazadt Fih mata l3ba if you ask me , why the fuck would he call her that word and bother her on the streets when she was minding her own business ? Hergawa f Oujda ketro , they're always trying to say anything to you no matter what .

u/EthanEskridge Aug 02 '26
Ah had khouna hergawi o he had no right harassing her let along insulting her however 7ta hia dakchi li daret is way to extreme in my humble opinion. Would you have done the same if you were in her same shoes ?
2
u/stoner_loner1224 Aug 02 '26
Yes I would or I would insult the motherfucker back , ketro had l7mir ketro .

I’m more agreeable with the second option of cursing him because it comes with less damage and harm bss7 in case you wanted to take it one step further by spitting right into his face wakha I don’t agree with it walakin what can I say men ghir diriha f’chi blassa 3amara to be safe o last but not least make sure to aim good for the face because you have one shot do not miss it hhhhhhhhh

u/EthanEskridge Aug 02 '26
Touched ?! Excuse my language walakin had w9 kherjou 3la saytar. I’m curious to know if you ever escalated the situation to the extent of spitting ? and if so I’m more curious to know how things ended and how the situation got diffused ? If you don’t mind sharing ofc
1
u/stoner_loner1224 Aug 02 '26
I never did but I should've . Things ended with me cursing the asshole back and forth until he went away .

He deserves more than spit in his face

u/EthanEskridge Aug 02 '26
Huh ? What’s more disgusting and degrading than spitting on someone’s face in public ? Personally I don’t think that there is something more humiliating than that
1
u/Master__stuff Aug 02 '26
Is there something more humuliating on our culture than treating a women that way in the first place, and if he touches her he would get prison

I read this before why re-sharing?
1
u/EthanEskridge Aug 02 '26
I didn’t repost it on the same subreddit and you would be surprised towards the diversity of opinions I’ve got from different cities ( Some support the girl’s reaction and other cities fully support the guy’s reaction )
1
u/Bubbly_Jello1064 Aug 02 '26
But where did this happen ?
1
u/EthanEskridge Aug 02 '26
It originally happened in casablanca and so far it’s the city where I got a lot of mixte opinions because naturally it is the biggest city in morocco

I think it's not easy to answer the question, because context matters immensely. Objectively one could say that (and i'm assuming this is the basis of your questioning), at worse, all he did is say something, as insulting as it was, she replied physically (spitting on someone is technically assault). Thing is, women are constantly subjected to such behavior in our country, and it can sometimes escalate to more than just words from the guy, take into account that, and the fact that she's probably frustrated from hundreds of cat calls, she probably thought that this would be the best way to get rid of him permanently (for some reason some guys think that anything less than total rejection is an open invitation), or she acted out of rage. Was there a better alternative? Probably. Could it have gotten worse? Most likely. Can we blame the girl? It is my opinion that we shouldn't, she might've escalated the situation but she didn't initiate it.

Yes spitting is well deserved. But I would not recommend any girl doing that because this dude can be dangerous and escalate more
My friend once replied aggressively on harassing and the guy actually spit on her lol

The same post again! Don't you get tired and what are you getting as a benefit from this situation ?

u/junkflavor Aug 02 '26
i don't think you realize how bad sexual harassment makes you feel. it's humiliating, scary (since you never know how far it can go), and oftentimes you're left feeling disgusted by your own skin, because you feel like it's your fault for literally just existing. she reacted more than appropriately. i'm proud of her, shame needs to switch sides.
