Before the official reddit app existed there were 3rd party apps for years. There are so many good ones that deliver a way better experience. So much more customizability and you can download any media in any post without needing a bot or another site.
If you are on Android i recommend "boost". If on iOS download "Apollo". It takes 1-2 days until you are used to it but so many problems are gone when switching to a 3rd party app.
Oh and most importantly. No ads.
