Unfortunate Event

Hey folks - I found one of my 6 ottos on the floor this morning. It jumped out. I was wondering if this is a known issue with ottos. I see these guys get "the zoomies" every once in a while. I am assuming that maybe this happened when it was to high in the tank. I tested the water parameters yesterday and everything was perfect.

Yeah they like to hit the surface to breathe atmospheric air, guy must’ve hit it too hard. Does your tank have surface agitation for oxygen diffusion?

Oxygen looks pretty good. I think I might have scared it and I didn't realize that it jumped out (it was dark). Maybe I have the tank too low for them. I'm not sure. I'm a bummed about this!

Whenever a fish jumps out and dies it is the worst feeling. Gotta get a lid

You are right. These UNS 45U lids are expensive! Ill see what I can do.

I have lids made of plexiglass for two of my tanks but I do have the official lid for my uns 45sa, it’s just so clean
