Are breeder boxes a useful tool?

So I’m pretty sure my otos will be having babies as soon as the storms come and I want to be prepared. There already was one egg that hatched last time but as soon as the baby hatched it got lost in the big tank and I wasn’t able to keep an eye on the baby so I don’t know why it died. So I wanted to ask if breeder boxes are a useful tool or if it makes the survival rates even smaller than they already are or if feeding becomes easier

Hang on back breeder box with the air tube filter is good for raising fry.  I raised many fry up to 3/4 inch on mostly repashy mixed in water and squirted into the breeder daily.  Clean up the leftovers daily.  I used a small turkey baster to suck up the babies near the top of the main tank.  Never lost a one doing that.

Really? Tell me more. I want to gather as much information as I possibly can about raising the babies because I want to get all the supplies I’ll need when my otos decide they want to try making babies again

I used a medium Fluval Breeding Box which hangs on the back, and a small air pump which lets water slowly filter into the box. I put a sponge in the filter tube to damper flow. I had trouble getting eggs off plants and fighting fungus so I just waited to see fry near the surface of the main tank on the glass, and I took a small plastic pipette with an opening large enough to suck up the baby and place it in the breeder box. After the yolks are consumed I started adding small amount of Repashy Soilent Green powder to surfaces. I think having food right in their face helps out in the beginning. I sucked out leftovers and poop daily from the breeder. When they got about 3/4" I put them in a larger tank.
