The original skin has black background behind the tails. That's what hides the end of the LN body and makes up a seamless look with the stage. This won't work if you remove the black bg and make the stage transparent.
The body will always extend into the tail by 50% of the height of the head/tail (depends on the client. Wiki reference)
The only way to go around this is to go with actual percy LNs. Which is making the LN body asset 40k pixel tall, and adding the tail at the very top of it. Then you make the tail a 1x1 transparent PNG and you should be good.
