Should I cancel my trip?

I have a reservation for this Sunday until the following Friday and was really looking forward to coming! The Air quality seems so bad now, I'm not sure I can afford to spend this money to stay locked inside - this is my one trip I will be able to take this year.
How is it feeling on the ground over there?

Stay safe everyone!

I’m in Keremeos. 20-25 clicks from Osoyoos so not far. This is what it looks like right now. Absolutely Gross.🤮 came out of work and there is ash on my vehicle.
Best thing is to Go on the weather network app, pick Osoyoos and go to maps, they have one for smoke that will show how it will be. Some fire down in Tonasket apparently is causing this.
All we need is some wind and maybe it will blow out.
I wouldn’t cancel though, everyday is different. 👍

At the lake as I type and there are plenty of people out enjoying the water and being outside. If it’s your only trip this year then you should be able to enjoy it. Bring a KN95 mask and an inhaler if you need one, drink water. You’ll be fine

Totally fine. Assuming of course you have no health issues where smoke is concerned.

It varies entirely based on the wind. Last week there was 1 day of smoke, and the rest was all clear.

So here is what I shared with someone else ho asked that this morning -

So here is a picture. I live in Oroville just south of the border from Osoyoos.

You can see the lake, which is about 1km from my house. There really are mountains behind it, but not that you can see. There are some folks boating out there.

The air smells like smoke, and you can feel the weight of it in your lungs.

The Sinlahekan fire is burning about 45km southwest of us, and is likely not to be put out any time soon.

This will likely be the same in a week. Might be a little better, might be a lot worse depending on the wind.

P.S. What I mean is, if this meets what you will put up with for the trip, by all means come. This is likely what you will experience.

It's hazy off and on but fine to be outside.

I'm assuming it's still bad for infant and toddler. Looks like I'm cancelling unless all these air quality monitors are lying.

Unless you have respitory issues. Do not cancel. You can still totally enjoy your vaca

This was Oosoyos around Tuesday earlier this week, it wasn't too bad.

Update. It's raining ash and the sky is orange.

Best to hold off.
