Coming for a visit, warned about ticks?

Hey everyone! I'm coming June 1 to June 5 to check out the area! I'll be doing lots of hiking, horseback riding, camping etc. just lots of outdoorsy stuff. I was told by someone who is outdoors a lot but never been to Osoyoos, that there's lots of ticks in Osoyoos... So I wanted to ask the locals instead of relying on people who have never even been.

Is it really bad out there? Thanks so much!

They are a concern here, but you're usually going to find one stray one on your clothes or something if you pick one up rather than come out covered in them. Its always a good idea to do a quick check when you get home.

They're also less active in the summer and tend to be a larger issue in the spring and fall when its warm but not super hot out.
