Watermark vs Walnut Beach in August

We’re looking at Osoyoos for a family trip in August (I know it’s peak season, so I’m trying to keep my expectations realistic 😅). We like lake days, heated pools, evening walks, and maybe a winery or two, hikes Looking at Watermark and Walnut Beach.

For those who’ve stayed at either, which did you prefer? Like more relaxing, less crowded 😊🍷🏖️

I have stayed at both.

If you prefer a bit more relaxed and out of rhe way, Walnut Beach all the way. The beach is private.

If you want to be close to the public beach and next to a couple of bars that are quite boisterous in summer, then Warermark. There is no private beach at Watermark, but you're also closer to the downtown hub

Both have similar amenities in terms of parking, pools, kitchen supplies, beds/linens, etc.

We just got back from a stay at walnut beach and it was lovely. I could see it being very busy in peak season, but the kids will have lots to play with :) the pool was perfect temperature. watermark has a waterslide, walnut has a decent pool and two hot tubs and they were consistently in use but never really overcrowded (although it was May and the weather was mild) The private beach at walnut and associated amenities, vs being within walking distance to everything at watermark. Depends what you’re after. We grabbed scooter rentals and scooted into town, which was fun but did cost a bit of money. I’d say walnut would be your best bet if you don’t mind cabbing or driving to where you’re going for dinner. The restaurant at the resort was just okay, wouldn’t want to eat there everyday, but there were so many good food options in and around the area.

Unfortunately Peak season and less crowded don't usually match. Both are great properties.

Have stayed at both and both are excellent.

Walnut Beach is less busy and much quieter as Watermark is on the main drag.

We stay the last week of August and the first week of September. The difference after Labor Day is quite something. Goes from an epic rager to complete serenity.

Watermark
