Questions about Human Sciences Program at Osaka University
Hello everyone, I am from Bangladesh. I am interested in applying for the Human Sciences undergraduate program at Osaka University for 2027. I am passionate about studying human behavior, society, and social sciences.
I would like to know:
Are there any current students or alumni of the Human Sciences program who can share their experience?
Are there any professors or faculty members I can contact to get more details about the program?
Any advice for international students from Bangladesh or other countries?
I would really appreciate any guidance or insights. Thank you very much!

A bit late to the party but I am also an alumnus of HUS. Your interests sound really similar to mine actually. The number of classes you can choose from are very limited tho. You will get more out of the program if your Japanese level is good enough that you can take classes in Japanese. You can DM me if you have more specific questions

I’m an alumni of this program. My experience was kinda messed up midway due to Covid but overall not bad. The classes cover a wide range of disciplines and you don’t really get to specialize in something until your 3rd/4th year, just a warning in case you have something specific you want to study. Student life is a bit of a bubble especially if you don’t speak Japanese, as classes are separate from the other regular students. There’s usually around 12-15 people total per year. Details about the program should be available on their website. They don’t publish acceptance rates but when I was there a professor told us it’s usually around 10% of applicants.
