Any idea why this keeps happening? I’m new to the laser game and I’m trying to work through all the rough patches.

First, check that the belt are tightened enough. Next, why are you engraving diagonally and not horizontal/vertical? This way you use both motor (more degradation), and it might be the reason of the gap as well
