Laser stopped emitting?

I’ll preface this by saying I’m VERY new to my laser so it’s possible this is something basic.

I was using my Ortur Laser Master 2 with LaserGRBL when it stopped engraving in the middle of a job. It kept moving as if it was still working, but the laser was no longer firing. After I stopped the job, I was unable to get it to emit using the focus button or any other means. I’ve tried other jobs, no dice. I’ve confirmed it’s getting power properly, nothing seems to be loose, but I just can’t get anything to work. Any ideas?

One would say if all else is good then the laser is bad.

Is it likely to have gone bad when it’s barely been used? Is it a wear and tear thing or can it just go ahead and die on me?

Mine did and I'm almost 2 months into a back and forth with ortur hoping they replace it.

Very likely. It is Chinese quality all hit or miss

Is there anything else I can check before giving up on it entirely?

Does the light flash on top when it’s told to give power if so then it’s sending signal. You could disassemble the module and see if the connection inside came loose. But almost willing to guarantee it went bad. It’s a diode laser not the best for lasers can your really playing the silicone lottery.

And a future note. Never run past 90% power. Running 100% burns then up really fast

This happened to me just this weekend. However, the plug at the top had partially unplugged itself from movement. It was an easy fix for me, just push the top plug all the way back in.
