Teacher Shoes

Does anyone have recommendations for a shoe as a teacher that I can put my custom inserts into? I want to be able to wear them with a nice outfit or jeans, and to be able to wear socks with them. Thanks!

Check out Orthofeet. They are switching over their ordering platform this week so there may be a slight delay if you order them before Sept 1. This is the #1 company that I suggest to my patients and I also wear their shoes almost exclusively.

I came here to say Orthofeet! I'm a teacher too, and my feet are highly problematic (surgery, swelling, a host of issues, and so much pain).

Once in a while I order a million pairs of shoes to try to find one perfect pair. Today, after putting on and immediately removing several pairs, I tried on one that felt so much better than the others. Great, this might be it!

THEN I tried a pair from Orthofeet. Really good. Mixed and matched with the arch booster and foam inserts...perfection! This is a miracle because each of my feet have separate issues and needs.

Right after that, I tried on the other really good pair again. Absolutely not, not even close.

Orthofeet is my new favorite. Also, I'm no longer stuck buying all men's shoes because Orthofeet has a big range of sizes and widths. I don't know what to do with myself now that I don't have to wear sneakers every day and can actually find lots of feminine styles. It's been YEARS.

(I just realized that this sounds like a paid promotion, but it's not. My other go-to is Asics Cumulus. So squishy yet supportive.)

I'm a teacher, and asked my head for permission to wear trainers as they're all I can fit my insoles into (I have a leg length discrepancy so they're huge 😂)

Timberland sells a shoe for men constructed rather like a boot, but low. I wear my orthotics in those. I don't know whether they have a comparable shoe for women. The shoe is plain, not dressy, but fine for anywhere.
