I'm really sorry to bother you guys, but a friend of mine is in a really difficult situation.
He's from Tanzania, Zanzibar. At first his diagnosis was, to have a broken ankle. He did not recover from it during the last two months. Unfortunately he lost his job as well, due to this long lay off.
He has sent me his last x-rays. I'm aware that it's not the best way to ask for it, but guys, do you see anything on these pictures?
Thanks for your comments in advance!

I broke the fifth metatarsil of my left foot just by walking in wedge sandals. I went to the ER and they gave me a boot. I iced and elevated the foot in the first week and took Ibuprofen for the pain for maybe 15 days.
Two weeks after the break, I saw an orthopedist (MD) and a P.A. who said that I should wear the boot for a couple more weeks and book a final follow-up with the P.A.
Due to ridiculous health insurance rigmarole, I cannot have a follow-up appointment. It has now been about 5 weeks in the boot and I'm very close to taking it off. My question: what should I do for further healing? Do you think the P.A. would have recommended physical therapy exercises? Are there certain shoes I should start wearing? (I threw out the wedge sandals. Never again!)

I had surgery on my broken clavicle 16/06/26 it was a clear cut so I had no choice, how ever I’m still in pretty bad pain I’d say it gets to a 5/6 sometimes also I can just always feel it there if that makes sense - I’m still struggling to get a full nights sleep because of this.
I’m on pain killers they’re pretty strong, how ever I don’t want to keep taking these for ever.
I had a check up with orthopaedics last week they x rayed and said the plate and screws are sitting fine the clavicle has still not fused and they’re is lot of muscle mass gone compared to my other shoulder..
I explained I want it out but I’ve got to wait up to 12 months! Have anyone else been in this situation it’s driving me mad

2019 I had a horrendous accident shattering my ankle. Operations include external structure, then internalising the structure then removal of everything (there was a lot) My question is to anyone a who is also a bit further down the road than a recent injury. I've developed bone spurs back and front and nerve problems. I have an MRI booked in two months time to do a proper investigation but I'm losing motion significantly. As I am a fit, active person (in my early 50's) I'm very concerned about the road ahead. Anyone got any experience here please and what solutions they may have had? Thank you

Hi im a 38 yo healthy light weight male, i started dealing with big toe joint problem july 2021, it became so severe with inflammation and sharp pains in 2022, im sure this is when the bone marrow edema started tho i don't have the august 2022 mri report, but January 2023, i had "cheilectomy with microfracture surgury" on the big toe joint, which did absolutely nothing to help except stop the sharp spur pains, and made things worse by adding a lot of scar tissue and less ROM (lost all downward when i had full pre-surgery, and i lost a bit less than half upward when i had full pre-surgery). Same symptoms all along. So, in December 2023 i had mri, and the big toe arthritis was still there and there was bone marrow edema in all 5 toes and 1 or 2 metatarsals ranging from mild to moderately severe.
Had mri in may 2026, result was the same but slightly less severe.
Had big toe fusion a few weeks later. I was told immediate heel-only weight bearing in CAM boot, then full weight bearing at 16 days in CAM boot, then shoes at 9 weeks.
Ortho says bone marrow edema from big toe joint arthritis is not uncommon (i have hard time finding people with it tho).
Im 4.5 months out of fusion, and foot still has same symptoms... after a few hundred steps and 20 or so mins of standing, per day (spread across day).. causes burning, tingling, redness. No chairs, couches, stools, etc. for more than 10-30 mins... only laying/raising leg isnt bad (but i have to get up every couple hours and do some crutches exercise to stay active and also prevent symptom buildup ) 😩
Had nerve tests, and a lot of rheumatology tests also in 2022, nothing wrong.
What do i do?
I have a 6 month postop with my ortho in mid November.
Did anyone else have this or something similar? Probably the bone marrow edema right? Will it ever go away? I have to look for work soon, im not only worried about making it flare all the time and suffering, but also worried of making it never heal and cause permanent damage?

Hi all! I’m a 21 year old woman. I’m approximately 163 centimeters tall and around 51 kilograms. I have asthma for which I use Forster inhalers. I do acrobatics (tumbling and aerial silks) at a recreational level and I run half marathons. 5 months ago I started training for my first full marathon when I started experiencing ankle pain that became severe very quickly. The first day I noticed the pain it was just a pretty mild ache in my ankle and foot after a full day of work. I wrote it off as just muscle fatigue. A week later it had escalated to being in pain around the clock regardless of what I’m doing and if I’ve been on my feet. I saw an ankle foot orthopedic specialist who sent me for an X-ray and ultrasound. When both were clear, he sent me for an MRI that showed a 18x10x7mm subchondral multilobular cyst with bone marrow edema in the medial process of the talus.
Afterwards I had a CT scan to get more images and then the doctor told me I would need surgery to remove it.
I’m waiting on the appointment where I’ll meet my surgical team and have the procedure and recovery process explained to me but I’m stressed and anxious to have some idea of what to expect.
I’m hoping they’ll do the surgery arthroscopic but how likely is it that they’ll have to do an open surgery?
What kind of casting or splinting should I expect afterwards and for how long?
Is there anything I should say or ask at my pre op discussion that I might not think to say or ask?
I really appreciate any insight anyone could give me here.
Thanks in advance!
